Features to know about

Keeps Your Trailer Level: 2" Drop or 3/4" Rise

Getting your trailer to ride level makes every tow smoother and safer. This Curt Class III ball mount gives you a 2" drop or a 3/4" rise so you can match the trailer height to your setup. It fits a 2" x 2" hitch receiver and measures 7-1/2" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole, giving you just the right geometry for consistent, even towing.

Ready to Tow Right Out of the Box: Pre-Torqued 1-7/8" Hitch Ball Included

No extra setup steps or tools needed. This kit includes a factory-torqued 1-7/8" chrome-plated hitch ball already mounted to the ball mount, plus a pin and clip so you can slide it into place and be ready to tow. Everything comes matched and tightened to spec, taking the guesswork out of getting started.

Built for Everyday Loads: 3,500 lbs GTW Rating

When you’re hauling smaller trailers, lightweight campers, or utility gear, dependable strength matters most. This mount handles up to 3,500 lbs gross towing weight and 350 lbs tongue weight, giving you solid performance for routine towing jobs without the bulk of heavier-duty gear.

Stays Looking Good Trip After Trip: Corrosion-Resistant Finishes

Road grime and weather can wear down lesser hardware fast. The black powder coat on the steel shank protects against rust, while the chrome plating on the hitch ball resists corrosion from moisture and salt. Together they keep your setup looking clean and working smoothly season after season.

Simple Strength That Lasts: Fixed Ball Mount Design

Fewer moving parts mean fewer things to worry about. This fixed ball mount keeps things solid and steady with every hookup. Once it’s pinned in place, it stays tight in the receiver so you can tow with confidence every time you roll out.

I had a great experience with this company. They answered my email in a reasonable time and the shipping was very fast. Cheap prices, fast shipping, good communication, and a quality product. That pretty much covers my experience with them.

by:

Product arrived quickly. E Trailer was very helpful insuring this was the correct hitch.

by:

Excellent product with excellent design and instructions for installation!

by:

Initially shipped without the pin from the manufacturer.

Etrailer took care of it immediately.

Everything is great! Thanks for great service!

This is the third time I've purchased from etrailer and have been very happy with the quality of their merchandise, the price and the speed of delivery. The website is tops. There's no surprises about anything they sell. Clear photos, complete spec's and fabulous installation videos. This is a first class organization from start to finish for the customer. If you're not a customer yet... you will be before long!!

by:

Pretty painless install, I was able to do it with out extra hands, with the rear of the car up on ramps. If installing on a CRV, removing the exhaust hanger in front of the rear wheels made this go much more smoothly.

by:

One year, still think they look and function great

by:

Works great!

by:

What can i say? It's solid. The receiver mounts low on my Honda CR-V so I just flipped the ball around and it brought the ball to an appropriate height for small utility trailers.

by:

Made in USA
Was all assembled and all
I had to do was put it on my truck and hook up the trailer to this hitch.
I had a hard time finding a 1 7/8 ball to fit a 1in hole, but etrailer come threw. Thanks

by:

The CURT Curt Steel Ball Mount Trailer Hitch Ball Mount has worked well for me. Easy to use and has held up nicely. Zero issues.

by:

Just as expected, it is a quality piece. Only complaint is, like most others, the fit is a
little sloppy. I usually don't keep the ball mount in the receiver when not towing
so I'm sure it will be ok.

Thanks for checking in on this item, as when I received to date the product has performed great and holding up well. I purchased this item along with a hitch assembly and am very satisfied with the product and would definitely look at purchasing any needed items from your company if the need arises.

by:

I installed two Curt hitches last year. One was for a 2006 Honda CR-V and the other was for a 2011 Toyota RAV4. Both were used to tow small U-Haul trailers across the state and both performed well. They were easy to install. The only downside I have is that the ball mount rattles around in the receiver a bit more than previous hitches I have had. All in all, though, I am pleased with the product.

by:

Looks like a nice piece of work, and works great, just bought a utility trailer and brought back home.. Works like a champ..

by:

Outstanding hitch, wiring harness & attachments. Online help (when given the trailer manufacturer and year) chose correct size and offset for ball to perfectly align trailer and car. You can see the lawn tractor sitting absolutely level on the trailer with the snow flying. It shows why I was in such a rush to acquire the hitch. From online chat with sales agent to her selection of right fit for the particular trailer and car to the ease of installation and the perfect ride behind my RAV4...RATING: A+! Couldn't be happier. Expedited 2 day shipping arrived exactly as promised. So impressed!!! Thank you etrailer for outstanding service. Very happy customer!

by:

Perfect as I expected with no problems so far

When looking online for a trailer and wiring harness for my 2025 CRV Hybrid, I stumbled across etrailer.com. When I had a question about which one was a better fit for my hybrid model, I called the number and was connected with Joy T. She could not have been more helpful. What she didn’t know, she researched for me while we were on the line together. She compiled the perfect package for my needs and application after just a few questions. Additionally, their website has excellent installation videos that were easy to follow and spot on accurate. While I wouldn’t tackle the hitch installation myself, the wiring harness video saved me almost $150 alone. BUT they even have an installer tracker program where you can locate a shop in your area for the hitch installations. I filled out the form and received a call from a shop inside of 24 hours. It’s scheduled for next week. It’s rare to find such a comprehensive start to finish process for something like this. I’m incredibly pleased with the product and as far as the service is concerned, Joy T. and Etrailer deserve the top score. And you can’t beat the reasonable prices to boot. I’m saving almost $500 under what the dealer wanted to charge me. That’s no small change. Extremely pleased!!! Thank you!

  • Easiest Hitch Installation for 2017 Subaru Forester for Towing 4 x 8 Rented Utility Trailer
Of the hitches available for your 2017 Subaru Forester, the easiest installation will be with the 2-inch etrailer hitch # E98839 and the Draw-Tite # 75876 that you referenced. Both are no-drill installs that will take about an hour and both require unbolting the car's heat shield. I linked a video showing hitch # E98839 being installed on a Forester. I also included the written instructions and a helpful article. For a wiring harness use kit # 118467 which is a simple plug-and-play installation....
