Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the replacement lift cylinder for the UWS toolboxes. Now, this is a heavy-duty gas cylinder, will serve as a replacement for your UWS toolbox lifts. This lift cylinder installs inside the toolbox to open the lid a full 90 degrees. As we mentioned, this does fit the UWS toolboxes that use the heavy-duty gas lifts.
Few dimensions on this, we're gonna give you the overall length from one end to the other. So on this one, we're gonna measure right at 11 inches. Now, the extended length, which will be measured from the center of this ball socket to the center of that ball socket is gonna be right at 10 inches. And if we would retract this, the length center to center is gonna be seven inches. Now, this lift could possibly work on other toolboxes by matching those listed dimensions to the dimensions of the cylinder that you are gonna be replacing.
And to install this cylinder, it does install or snap into a 10 millimeter size ball stud on each end. Weight capacity on this is 45 pounds and it is for a quantity of one lift cylinder. But that should do it for the review on the replacement lift cylinder for the UWS toolboxes..

Perfect fit, easy to install and it is quite stiff. The cylinder held up for a year now without any issues, it is perfect.
The original cylinders in my Husky toolboxes I bought in 2003 were shot after about 6 years. Many times a friend of mine would hold the lid open for me and ask when I was going to replace the lift cylinders. While researching lift cylinders to help a forum member with an issue with their under bed storage compartment in their camping trailer, I came across these. Price was right, shipping was fast. It took about 10 minutes to swap them out and now my toolbox lid stays up on its own. I should have done this years ago.

Great customer service, the part is an exact fit, and frequent communication.
After years of frustration with of my pickup utiity box lid falling down on me, I finally found the answer at etrailer.They had the right replacement cylinder lifts for my box, they were fairly priced, arrived in good time, easy to install and have worked perfectly in the year that I have had them.
