Question:
I was just given a used truck tool box for my truck. It’s in good shape only there are no gas shocks with it. Was needing to find a pair. Can you help. I am in sure who the manufacturer is. All the info I have is the brand and model # Payload Plus Model # 996980R2

I may have a solution for you, but since we do not carry the Payload Plus brand of truck mounted toolboxes, we won't have anything that will mount directly to the existing mounting hardware on your box.
You can use the top bracket # UWS-TCA and bottom bracket # UWS-BCA to install new mounting points on your existing toolbox and then connect those to the # UWSLIFTCYLIND to give yourself gas powered struts for your toolbox. These struts have a compressed length of 7" and extended length of 11". The length from ball socket center to ball socket center on the strut is 10".
These parts can be used to install a new strut system into your Payload Plus toolbox. You would need to source the hardware to attach the brackets to the toolbox locally, but self tapping screws or some bolts should do the job.
