Video Transcript for Optronics License Plates and Frames LP15SB Review

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at a trailer license plate mount bracket. This trailer license plate bracket is extremely strong and durable. It does a great job at creating a solid area for your license plate to be mounted. It is made of heavy duty steel, and it's zinc coated, or zinc plated to resist rust and corrosion. It can be used with stud mounted license plate lights, as well as tail lights that have a built in license plate light. So, it can be installed directly behind your taillight assembly.

And as you can see here, it angles down and provides a great area for mounting your license plate. And then the light would be able to shine down, illuminating the license plate area.A few measurements to go over with you real quick to determine whether or not this will work for your application. The overall length of the unit, measuring edge to edge, is about 8 7/16 of an inch to 8 1/2 inches. The holes for mounting the license plate, you can see these are elongated and their separated apart from one another on center. So, center on center, is about, I'm going to say about 6 3/8 inches apart.

Right in that area. The holes for stud mounted taillights. That's these two holes right here. These are separated on center by two inches. The holes for a standalone license plate light, these right here, are elongated and their separated apart from one another on center by 2 1/4 inches.

And those smaller holes right there are separated on center by and inch and a quarter. The gap located right here at the top, has a gap measurement of 1 1/8 inches wide by 1 1/8 inches deep. And it's put together really well. Again, steel construction, heavy duty design. And it does have protective coating to keep it safe from rust and corrosion. That's going to do it for today's look at the trailer license plate heavy duty mount bracket..

Trailer License Plate Mount Bracket, Heavy Duty Zinc Steel - LP15SB

Average Customer Rating:  4.9 out of 5 stars   (372 Customer Reviews)

Are you kidding? This metal license plate mount is rock solid and under $2. The holes are set up perfectly to fit the mounting bolts on my driver side trailer light and the position of the license plate when mounted allows it to be lit by the clear lens on the bottom of the trailer light when the running lights are on. Also, the bracket allows the mounted license plate (and frame) to just clear the rail of the flat bed trailer itself. Yeah, it's a perfect fit. Thanks, trailer!!

by:

Sturdy material, but not completely universal. On my Carson trailer, I had to flip the bracket backwards since the indentation on the bracket come down far enough to allow for the trailer light box. Also, the hole line up tonattach to the light box was just off enough I had to force the bracket on. However, once I installed it, it was solid and so don’t fear it will come off on its own.

by:

I purchased two tag license frames, one for my boat trailer and the other for my trash/hauling trailer. Both trailers had plastic license holder frames and one broke on rough surface.

by:

Excellent product description with relevant questions and answers from prior customers!

by:

The product was exactly as pictured and described. I am extremely pleased and recommend retailer products to anyone.

Comments
It works great. Absolutely no issues at all. I would highly recommend etrailer products to anyone.

I think you will find these photos show a unique installation of your metal trailer license plate holder.
My Yamaha golf cart is street legal which requires a license plate. You will see in close up photo that the holder is used up side down for a custom fit.
Couldn't be happier. The plastic holder was not stiff enough so your holder is perfect.

by:

Much better than the plastic one that came with the lights on the trailer.

by:

Very happy with my order once received. Only downside was it took a long time using USPS. etrailer responded quickly. USPS did not.

by:

Both brackets arrived in great condition. There was an issue with the items being backordered from the manufacturer, however I was notified on their status weekly by Carol at eTrailer. Would recommend these items and eTrailer to any purchaser. Shout out to Carol for keeping me in the loop!

by:

Excellent quality, easy online ordering and blistering fast delivery once again. Thanks

by:

Fit perfect on the 7,000 lb utility tra iler.

by:

Old bracket was plastic and easily broke off. I Ordered a metal one from etrailer at a great price. I painted mine with some extra plasti dip I had laying around and riveted it where the old one was and it's better than new!

by:

Everything that I have ordered from y'all has been perfect! Be ordering again I'm sure-I have quite a few trailers and such. Thanks again, Mark from Spicewood,Texas

by:

Just fine.
What I expected

by:

Great well made product just as advertised. No more lost license plates due to cheap plastic brackets. This metal bracket looks like it's going to last a a life time!

by:

Great product at a great price. Took five minutes to install.

Comments
Mike, where did you get your old black plastic bracket that broke? I had the exact same one and I liked it and it worked for me. I cant find a suitable replacement and would like another one just like this. Thanks!

  • Recommendation for a License Plate Bracket for a Small Cargo Trailer
I believe I have just the right license plate bracket for you. Take a look at the Trailer License Plate Mount Bracket, # LP15SB. It is just a little over 8 inches long at 8-7/16 inches. It is 4 inches tall. The center to center distance between the center slotted holes is 2-1/4 inches but can be 2-3/4 inches apart at the outside edges. The top most set of holes are 2 inches apart on center. I have included a picture showing the dimensions for you.

  • Stand Off Dimension of the Trailer License Plate Mount Bracket # LP10SB
I went in our warehouse and measured the stand-off of the Trailer License Plate Mount Bracket # LP10SB that you referenced and found it to be right at 1/2 inch. The closest one we have with the 1-1/2 inches of stand off that you want is a metal one, part # LP15SB. This one has a 1-1/4 inch stand off dimension

  • Angled License Plate Bracket Recommendation for a License Plate Collection Display
I think a better option for you would be the Trailer License Plate Mount Bracket # LP15SB. This bracket has an offset that is pretty close to 90 degrees and since it is a metal bracket it can be bent to the desired angle if needed. You could also paint the bracket with spray paint if you wanted.

  • License Plate Bracket for a 1992 Jayco Pop-up Trailer
We may not have the exact same license plate bracket as the one you lost on your Jayco trailer. But we do have quite a few that you could likely use. Bracket # LP15SB is an excellent choice since it is metal and would be more durable and would not cause ground problems (if the tail light grounds through the mounting studs). It mounts on holes that are 2 inches apart on center. If you happen to need a hole spacing that is 1-3/4 inches apart then you could use # LP20SB. I have included...

  • License Plate Bracket Options For Tow Dolly
I recommend using a license plate holder like part # LP15SB. You would need to find a suitable place to mount the bracket and probably drill through the fender or the frame to install this bracket. This bracket does not come with mounting hardware. We do have license plate brackets that are designed to be used with tail lights. I have attached a link to our product page for the brackets we offer. You may find one that will work with the tail lights on your dolly.

The front fascia trimming that is required to install the Draw-Tite Front Mount Hitch on your 2011 Chevrolet 3500 is detailed in the installation instructions that I have linked for you. Basically, you will need to drill a square hole that is 3-1/4 inches by 3-1/4 inches. To begin measuring for the cutout, you will want to measure from the tow hook bolt center to the ground. • Do Cargo Carriers Normally Obstruct Taillights and License Plates
