Question:
Hi, my jet ski trailers license plate bracket is riveted on and is plastic. How do I replace it since the bottom is broken? Also, the winch has a large roller for the bow and feeds from a bottom roller. Would it make any difference if attached over or under the large roller. If I go over, the hook makes it difficult to get right since not smooth. Photo attached. Finally, I have some Erickson ratchet straps. The sometimes get loose when driving. Is there something wrong? Not more than one or 2 ratchets to get tight. They are 1 inch straps. Thanks.

A broken plastic license plate holder is unlikely to be repairable so you'll probably be best served replacing it with a sturdier corrosion-resistant unit like # CE26053A which is aluminum. It may be necessary to break off the remaining plastic pieces and to drill holes for mounting hardware.
You do not want to run your winch strap over the trailer's bow roller. It uses the secondary roller underneath to allow the trailer bow roller to properly contact the hull without interference.
If you find your ratchet straps are becoming loose for the sake of your safety I recommend replacing them. Please keep in mind that all such items have two ratings, break strength and working load limit, or WLL. Always go by the WLL rating since this ensures an adequate safety margin. Select tie down straps whose WLL exceeds the weight of the jet skis. Please refer to the linked page.
