Can this carrier be converted to a folding carrier with an accessory shank? Also, what license plate frames are compatible for this hitch carrier?

The Pro Series carrier, # 63153, does not have an alternative shank that will allow it to fold.
You could use the Curt #C18150 with the folding adapter# 52015 or choose a model that folds like the etrailer carrier # e98874.
For a license plate bracket, there is not a specific bracket made for the carriers but you can use # LP15SB. Self-tapping screws (not included) can be used to attach it to the carrier.
