What Do Trailer Taillight Colors White, Red, and Black Mean

Thanks Have one more question The breakaway switch has 2 wires One goes to the brakes and the other goes to the trailer battery positive side with 12 volts from the truck side On the electric brakes does it matter which wire is positive or negative

You are correct the white wire is the ground circuit, the red wire is the stop/turn circuit and the black is the running light. This is the industry standard for trailer lighting colors like what comes with the harness part # A45PB.

Trailer brake magnets are not polarity sensitive so either could be used as the power wire as long as other wire is grounded.
