Troubleshooting Non-Working Trailer Tail Lights
Updated 07/01/2024 | Published 06/17/2024 >
Question:
I have a boat trailer where I tried to replace the tail lights because of corrosion. Trailer was made in 2019. There was an adapter that went from 3 wires brown, brown yellow and yellow to 2 wires that had a 3 wire pigtail adapter for the Wesbar tail lights. There was also a white ground which I connected to trailer along with the white from the tail light. My new submersible tail lights have a brown and a yellow. The brown and brown/yellow wire are attached together from factory but I’m unsure if they’re hooked up together. I did connect them together and connect that to the brown and the yellow to the yellow. And repeated the same on the driver side. But there was no ground wire from the trailer there. But it also had the brown,brown/green and green wire. Driver side isn’t as bright. Marker lights don’t work now and when one signal is on they both blink. What have I done. How do I fix this

Hey Kyle,
Can you send me some pictures of the tail lights and the wires coming from them? Do you know what the part number for the light is?

So all I did was hook 2 up to one and 1-1 on the other and it works. Hopefully it stays like that
