Video Transcript for Review of the RV City Water Inlet with Brass Check Valve

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at the city water flange. This is a city water check valve that's going to replace one worn or damaged valve on your RV. It does have a lead free brass valve surrounded by this durable aluminum surface mount that already has pre drilled holes in it, so it's going to be very easy to get this mounted in place. The back of the valve does have a half inch NPT, which is male pipe threading, so it should easily fit into your current setup, get that connection made.I do want to give you a few measurements to make sure that this is going to work for your setup.

So our first measurement is going to be our outside diameter. So you can see we're looking at right about just under three inches, about two and seven eighths of an inch. Our cutout or the size of the hole that we're going to need for this, we're looking at it right about an inch and a half, and then our valve depths, we're going to be measuring from the mount there. We're just over one and a half inches, so call it about one and five eighths of an inch there. This does also include a screen to make sure that no pebbles or clods of dirt or anything are coming through your water system when you're hooked up, keep everything nice and clean. And it's also got the attached rubber cap to make sure that when we're not hooked up, we can close that off and again, make sure that no dust, dirt or debris is going to get into our water system, going to keep that all nice and sealed up.

And that's going to complete our look at the city water flange. Again, I'm Michael with E trailer.com. Thanks for watching.

The metal check valve should be an improvement over the original plastic one installed in the water control panel. Once installed, the product works just fine. It wasn't a perfect fit as I had to enlarge the hole in the panel to fit the slightly larger brass octagonal flange compared to the smaller originally installed part.

by:

This is a substantial improvement to the fragile plastic inlet that comes on the camper. I expect this to be there for the life of the unit.

  • City Water Replacement Valve For 2020 Aliner Scout-Lite Camper
Nice question, lets check and see what I found: **RV City Water Inlet with Brass Check Valve - 1/2" MPT - Aluminum Flange - Surface Mount # 37262185. Yes, it will work. The city water connection or inlet is more of a universal part and not a brand specific item. You can mount it as long as you make sure you have the proper connections and plumbing know how. If you want this to replace your old or damaged inlet just make sure you follow the specs and directions or have a plumber install...
