Does Pin Hold Foot In Place On etrailer Manual Sidewind Trailer Jack

Updated 07/27/2026 | Published 07/21/2026

Question:

I see multiple holes in the inner tube and one photo shows a pin ed half way up the tube. Does this design require you to have the pin in one of those holes further up the inner tube instead of holding the footplate on? If so, I’m not sure how that would work if when leveling, you fall in between those holes. Could you clarify?

Hey Kim! What you're looking at on the etrailer Manual Sidewind Trailer Jack # e88GV with the pin through it is the drop leg. The drop leg and foot are all one piece, the pin does not actually hold the foot to that leg. This goes up into the jack, and you can adjust the height using the different holes.

The yellow paint on the foot is what throws it off I think, it makes it look like a separate piece. When the pin is running through one of the upper holes, and the inner tube on the jack, the foot will still be secure. The jack can be drill operated with the included attachment, and a SnapPad # SN47FR is available separately for added stability.

What kind of trailer will you be mounting this on?
