Recommended Flat Towing Parts for a 2026 Ford Maverick Lariat

Hello, We have a Jayco-Precept 33U. I purchased a Maverick Lariat 2.5 L Hybrid - VIN- 3FTTW8S33TRA97930 .I want to set the Maverick up to flat tow behind my Camper. I have a Blue -Ox tow bar system, not sure if it will work , but if it will I would like to use it. Several people have told me they got the parts to set this up from Etrailer. Can you help? Thanks,

I sure can Scott and congrats on the new truck! To flat tow your 2026 Ford Maverick Lariat behind your Jayco-Precept 33U, I recommend the following parts:
Baseplate Kit - Blue Ox Base Plate Kit item # BLU94ER
Wiring Harness - Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles item # RM-15267
Supplemental Braking System - Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System item # DM86VR
Pressure Regulator - Demco Stay IN Play DUO Inline Air Pressure Regulator item # DM88UV
Charge Line Kit - Towed Vehicle Battery Charge Line Kit item # DM66VR. This only works with the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System. It is an extremely simple and inexpensive way to add the required charge line you'll need to keep your Maverick's battery from dying on your trips.
What specific model Blue Ox tow bar do you have? The Blue Ox Base Plate Kit item # BLU94ER I recommended fits with most of them but I would be more than happy to verify yours is compatible.

I had a local shop install the Blue Ox base plate. No cutting required to the fascia. Works great. I have done the installs before by myself but on the Maverick I would suggest having it done professionally. The shutter system confused me and I didn't want to screw that up.

This set up works great on my 2025 Maverick. Tows beautifully with my Blue Ox tow bar. I use a Blue Ox Patriot brake system. One warning: don’t drill into the rear light housing. We had an expert RV shop do the install and they drilled into the rear light assembly. Condensate collected and shorted out the expensive LED surround bulb. It wound up costing them a lot of money for the dealer to repair. They ultimately came up with a seal that prevented moisture from entering the casing. ETrailer won’t steer you wrong!
