When your route includes uneven ground and off-pavement stops, this lunette tow bar fits the way you travel. It's built to tow full-size trucks and SUVs and connects easily, even when the angle isn't perfect or the ground isn't level.
This pintle and lunette setup gives you more articulation than a standard coupler, so uneven ground, bad angles, and tight turns don't put extra strain on the connection while you tow.
The long arms extend and pivot independently to make hookup and disconnect easier on gravel, slopes, or uneven ground. They reduce binding so the tow bar lines up and releases without forcing parts back into alignment.
Note: Lunette ring can be swapped out with a standard 2" ball coupler (BX88248) or a receiver adapter (BX88249).

Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're looking at our Blue Ox Apollo Non-Binding Tow Bar. Now this one features a two and a half inch lunette ring or a pintle style hookup and it's a 15,000 pound rated. So the nice thing with this is it's Blue Ox, obviously great product, great manufacturer, been around for ages. This will fit Blue Ox base plate with tabs that are spaced 38 and a half inches or less.
And it can also be used with some other manufacturers with adapters. And I'll throw that chart up on the screen for you. That's found on the webpage as well if you need more time with it. You can also swap out the lunette ring with the standard two inch ball coupler or receiver adapter. Both of those are sold separately as well.
Now again folks, this is designed and made to work with the pintle hitches. Again, two and a half inch diameter lunette ring. And then of course, as we know with base plates, these two arms can pivot in or out. Obviously I have space constraints here in the studio today, but you get the idea. And then of course, with it being a non-binding, it's really, really simple to use.
I've got the arms pulled out, you can simply push any of these levers down, that releases and lets the arms slide back in. And then when it's time to store it, you can, you know, get it outta the way. Push these together to make it smaller. When it's time to hook up, obviously you pull the pins, pull the arms out, they're gonna automatically lock. You got this protective boot that's going to protect everything.
And then of course you're gonna get a set of the Blue Ox safety cables. It's very important piece of equipment here. And these, as well as the tow bar itself, both have a safety rating of 15,000 pounds. Now the arm length, whenever you have this fully extended, like I have now, from the center of our lunette ring to the center of the base plate pin, and that's the pin, it's kind of tight here 'cause it's not hooked up yet. The center of this pin to the center of the lunette ring fully extended, 45 inches. And when it's retracted back down, it's 32 and a half inches long. So again, folks, a quick connect base plate or tow bar to the base plates makes this a great option for you. And once again, we have those other options for the head assembly if you wanna swap that out as well. Folks, I'm team Steven with etrailer. Thanks so much for your time. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.

A solid edition in flat towing, in the heavy weight category. I had a rear axel emergency brake issue on the dinghy. The tow vehicle just tugged away, and drugged the truck out the gate, and int the first turn. Everything is coming together nicely, all of the powder coating on the inter-circumference has all chipped away, I assume this is expected. Brake issue resolved, proportional braking great, and tow lighting and power working beautifully!
