Question:
I just bought 2026 toyota tundra sr5. I have a travel trailer 2023 rockwood ultra light 2608bs hitch weight 946lbs. Which color would you recommend? My last truck had airbags and I was always concerned that it might fail while traveling on the road. I heard about you sumosprings from another camper how nice it worked for them. I am a weekend warrior camper. Thank you, Mike

Hey Mike, thanks for reaching out. For your 2026 Tundra SR5 towing a Rockwood Ultra Lite with about 946 lbs of tongue weight, I'd definitely go with the blue 1,400 lb SumoSprings # SS46PV. That's a pretty good-sized tongue weight, and the blue springs will give you the support you need when under a load without being overly stiff for normal driving when the trailer isn't hooked up.
One of the reasons I like SumoSprings for a weekend camper setup is exactly what you mentioned about airbags. There's no air pressure to monitor, no lines to leak, no compressor to fail, and no adjustments to mess with before a trip. They just sit there and do their job. They won't level the truck quite as aggressively as a heavily inflated airbag system, but they do a great job reducing rear-end squat, improving stability, and helping the truck feel more planted with the trailer attached. For a Tundra pulling a trailer in that weight range, I think they're a really nice balance between simplicity, ride quality, and support.
Where are you headed for your next weekend trip?

I have a 2025 Tundra and bought the blue set of sumo springs. I had them on for a couple of weeks then took them off. If my Tundra was a work truck, hauling equipment in the bed they would be fine. However with the Sumo springs and an empty bed you will be hitting them like a bump stop when the road is rough. When I tow my Rpod 190 I use ez lift weight distribution hitch to level things out. Good thing about the Sumo springs for the Tundra is that they are easy to install and uninstall.
