Are Spacers Needed Air Lift Air Bags For 2024 Toyota Tundra With Factory Lift

Updated 12/03/2024 | Published 05/23/2024

Question:

I have a 2024 tundra limited with the Toyota 3 inch lift installed at the factory. Are there additional bag cradles/risers I should use to compensate for the lift so the bags don’t have to be overinflated because of the extra height?

Hey Chad,

Good question and you will need spacers for your 2024 Toyota Tundra with the factory lift when installing the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers # AL24JQ.

The rear lift on the Tundra is 2 inches (it is 3 inches in the front - it's common for the front to be slightly more on lift kits), so what you will use is the Air Lift Universal Air Spring Spacers - 2" Lift # AL52420.

I also wanted to mention I do highly recommend considering a compressor to make both monitoring and maintaining the psi in the air bags much simpler. The best way to do this is with a wireless compressor, the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL74000EZ.

Can I use the Al25980 compressor instead? Will either the compressor you listed or the one I listed allow me to air up a tire?

@ChadB Hello Chad. Unfortunately, those air compressors will not fill up your tires. You will want the Firestone Air Command Extreme Duty Air Compressor with Tank - Smartphone App Only - Dual Path # F49VV. This compressor will be able to fill up your tires no problem, and it is smartphone compatible. If you wanted the system with the remote too # F46VV. I also included attached a review video for you to check out as well.

@KateF Thanks for the reply. Airing up the tires is not a necessity. Can I use the AL25980 compressor instead of the more expensive Al74000EZ?

@ChadB Yes, the # AL25980 will work just great for you. One of the main differences is that the # AL25980 is going to be a single path which will air up your bags to the same level, the # Al74000EZ is a dual path so you can control the bags independently for uneven loads.

Also I just watched the install on a tundra on your website and the used AL84jq helper springs instead of the AL24jq. What is the difference?

@ChadB The difference between the 2 is that the # AL24JQ has an internal jounce bumper (bump stop) inside of the bag, and the # AL84JQ does not. I only recommend the ones with the internal jounce bumper if they are pushing their load limit and have a fear of the bag failing. I have heard that the internal jounce bumper can cause a rougher ride when your vehicle is not loaded. I have included a review video of each product.

@KateF is the AL25980 suitable to use with the AL84jq?

@ChadB Yes, the # AL25980 will be able to air up the # AL84jq with zero issues.
