Hitch And Wiring Recommendation For 2013 Ford F-150

I have a 2013 F150 that I just purchased. It did not have the tow option, so I am looking at all the parts to get this tow ready. I currently have a tekonsha voyager brake controller I want to install. I found the plug that the factory brake controller plugs into. Apparently you guys make an adaptor to plug into that? I plan to purchase the class iv hitch. Can you also recommend a 7 pin round plug and any adaptors I need to connect this to the current 4 wire system? Thanks!

The Class lV hitch we offer for your 2013 Ford F-150 is the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C14002. This is a custom hitch designed to fit your truck and is a bolt-on installation. this hitch has a 2 inch receiver opening.

The ball mount kit I recommend is the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit, part # EBMK2216. this includes a ball mount with either a 1 inch rise or 2 inch drop, 2 trailer balls, the pin and clip and a handy storage bag. I have attached a link to a product review video you can check out.

The wiring adapter you need to connect your Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller, part # 39510, to your truck is the Tow Ready Plug-In Wiring Adapter, part # 22292. I have attached a photo that shows where you can access the wiring connector to plug the brake controller to.

To get the 7-way connector at the rear of your truck you will need part # 37185. This will use the 4-way connector at the rear of your F-150, and with some additional wiring, give you the 7-way connector for your trailer. I have linked an installation video for this adapter you can take a look at. For additional wiring I recommend using the jacketed 2 wire, 10 gauge wire, part # 10-2-1. This can be ordered by the foot. This will also give you a 4-way connector at the rear of your truck.

To mount the 7-way without drilling, I recommend the no-drill mounting bracket, part # C57202.

Also, when working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
