Features to know about

Handle Everyday Towing with Confidence: Class III Strength and 2" Receiver Opening

This hitch is built to handle a wide range of towing jobs thanks to its Class III rating, 6,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight, and 600 lbs maximum tongue weight. When used with a weight distribution system, those capacities jump to 11,000 lbs GTW and 1,100 lbs TW. The 2" x 2" receiver opening works with the most common towing accessories—so whether you’re hauling a small camper, towing utility trailers, or attaching a bike rack, this hitch gives you dependable strength and versatility for the long haul.

Tackle Installations in Your Own Garage: Bolt-On Design and No Welding Required

This hitch bolts directly to the frame for a sturdy mount without welding or special equipment. The full hardware kit and step-by-step instructions are included, making it easy to install in a driveway with standard tools. Precision robotic welding ensures everything lines up properly for a perfect fit. It’s designed for DIYers who want a clean, straightforward install that feels like it was meant to be there from the start.

Keep It Looking Good for Years: Durable Powder-Coated Steel Construction

The fully welded steel construction gives this hitch serious durability while the gloss black powder coat finish over a protective base coat keeps rust away. That means it stays strong and looks sharp even after years of exposure to road grime, moisture, and salt. The square-tube design adds extra rigidity so you can trust it to handle tough towing conditions without flexing or corrosion getting in the way.

easy fit , heavy duty , good quality

by:

Quick easy and with great support. I love etrailer for their service and support.

by:

Super easy to install. Seems very secure and solid. Took about 15 minutes to install. Didn't even have to lower spare tire ( although that would have speeded the install up a little. Happy with the receiver.

by:

I like the product cost, quality, fit, included fasteners, and ease of installation. Will use to pull 3 different trailers. I have purchased with you in the past and plan on in the future. Thank you, Ernie

by:

Fit my 2012 F150 perfect. Didn't remove spare and still had on by myself in 20 min. Nice to have a few jack stands to hold in position while you attach to truck. Great product! Only negative a few of the bolts had small burrs on the threads from rolling around in plastic baggie.

by:

Looks like a very good hitch and the installation was straightfoward. The estimate of 30minutes for installation is very optimistic for average recreational mechanics

by:

trailer hitchthis site had accurate pictures of the hitchs, unlike some other. It also accuratly listed the correct hitch for my model of truck which was not the case on some other site, luckly I knew what I needed. The only problem I had was one of the mounting ears was sticking out of the packing box and was bent, better packing or gentler shippers? I am a metal worker and a little time on the anvil fixed my problem.

by:

Easy to install. Fit perfectly and took an hour to install only because I had a torn shoulder. I got the receiver for my truck so that I will be able to pull a trailer with my Boy Scout equipment for camping and training.

by:

super great shipping, great price, easy install!! thanks e trailer, great customer service and great product

by:

Love my Hitch for my truck. Pull a trailer for our side by side and the kayaks.
GREAT BUY.

by:

Great customer service. The hitch I ordered online was back ordered and they called and helped me to change my order to one that was in stock. It arrived as promised and this was the easiest hitch I have ever installed.

by:

Everything was great, hooked up really fast. Thanks again etrailer.com.

Great..

by:

Very easy to put on, looks good and works perfect.

by:

Installed very easy. I was able to install in 30 minutes with my floor jack hold it up.

by:

Curt trailer hitch had a great price and etrailer made the shipping cost right for quick delivery. I viewed the video prior to receipt of the hitch. The video was good and I had no problems installing the hitch by myself, with the proper tools. I did not need to remove the spare tire and because my truck sits high, did not use any kind of a lift. Easily install in within the thirty minutes. It all looks good on my new truck!

by:

Great product. Fit and installation was a simple. Had my truck serviced shortly after installation and the shop complimented me on the choice of a Curt hitch receiver. Very happy with this product!

by:

I really had no idea the install would go just like the etrailer.com instructions and video showed. I'm a very very senior citizen and decided to try the installation myself. I used a couple of strong plastic buckets to support the receiver in my carport, and then just followed instructions.
I did purchase a couple of large gold heavy grade to supplement the parts that were included. Twenty six minutes later the hitch was installed. I never expected such a great installation. Great product!!

by:

Love this only took 30 mins to put on and didn't even have to drop spare!! Thank you guy!!

by:

I am pleased with the hitch I received from etrailer. It fit like a glove.
However, the instructions left something to be desired. First, I had no clue why I was to put two washers between the frame and hitch. Moreover, there were two different sized washers with the hitch. I had to guess which went where. Then the square washers were too small to cover the holes in my frame. It took longer to install it than the 15 minutes shown on the instructions.
For the most part though, I am pleased with the product.

by:

The hitch receiver was busted through the box

by:

Easy install, great dealing with etrail er.com

by:

Very smooth, seamless transaction!

by:

I put it on in about 15 minutes by myself. Had to take spare off to tighten 2 bolts. Fit like a glove. This is the 2nd hitch I’ve gotten from etrailer and both have been so easy to put on. I can’t wait to tow my kayak trailer to the lake.

by:

Where else can you talk to people who at=re so knowledgeable in hitch and what is best for the vehicle. Thank you for having great employees.

Thank you for a great product

  • Is Towing With A Hitch Better Than Towing With A Ball Mounted To Bumper
Normally a bumper is rated at about 3500 lbs towing capacity. It is usually stamped somewhere on the bumper or possibly on a sticker. A frame mounted hitch is going to have more capacity for towing due to how it is installed. Also, most trailers will have a towing height of 17 to 19 inches, and a bumper on a truck will typically be around 20 inches. If the trailer is attached to the bumper and the nose of the trailer tongue is higher it can introduce sway when towing. It is better to...

The towing capacity of your truck is going to depend on how the truck is equipped, such as the cab configuration and the rear end gear ratio. I can't provide you with a definite capacity without knowing the particulars of your vehicle, but I will say the the owner's manual will provide you with all the specifics according to how your vehicle is configured. The manual has a very comprehensive breakdown of how the way the vehicle is equipped affects the towing capacity. The lowest towing...

  • Can Trailer Hitches for 2009 Ford F-150 Be Used with Weight Distribution to Tow More than 6,000 lbs.
All of the hitches available for the 2009 Ford F-150 are rated for 6,000 pounds gross trailer weight and 600 pounds tongue weight capacity. However, all of the available hitches (see link) are rated for use with weight distribution which will allow the hitch to tow 10,000 pounds (# 13368) to 12,000 pounds (# 75691) depending on the hitch. These are ratings for the hitch, but not the truck. You will need to check the owners manual to determine if a weight distribution system can be used...

If the towing capacity of your 2014 Ford F-150 is greater than the weight of the Hyundai Sonata then yes, you can tow it. It looks like your towing capacity will be between 7,500 lbs to 9,300 lbs depending on wheelbase and axle ratio so that should be plenty for the Sonata but if you using a trailer you will need to factor that into the above as well. Instead you're looking for the Curt # C13186 which is a confirmed fit on the 2018 Ford Escape SE and will provide you with a 2" receiver. • Can Flat Bed Directly Tow with Bumper

  • Can 2019 Ford F-150 Tow Nissan Rogue on Trailer Using Bumper Hitch Ball
I pulled up the online version of the owner's manual for your 2019 Ford F-150 and it lists a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds when using just the bumper (not a trailer hitch and ball mount). I do still recommend verifying this in your personal copy of the manual as well. The 2011 Nissan Rogue weighs around 3,200 to 3,500 pounds so you should be well under capacity even after factoring in the weight of the U-Haul trailer itself.
