How to Install a Trailer Hitch on a 2013 Ford F-150

All right. Today on this 2013 Ford F150, we're going to install Part Number C14002 from Curt. All right. This is what the hitch looks like once installed on the vehicle. Next, we'll give you some measurements that'll help you out on selecting some accessories such as the ball mount, bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of receiver opening down to the ground will be about 20-1/4 inches.

From the center of the hitch pinhole to the edge of the bumper will be about 2-3/4 inches. Okay. First thing, we're going to do to make things easier to install the hitch is go ahead and lower the spare tire out of way. You don't have to do this that makes the kit to access to fasteners a lot easier, they are right next to the spare tire. All right.

Now, I'll go ahead and show you where the hitch installs on the vehicle. With the next set of hands, we'll go ahead and lift the hitch up into the position. We'll line up the holes and install the hardware. The rest, we have the bolt and the flat washer that'll go from the outside to the inside through the bumper bracket and the flange nut will be on the other side. Now, we'll go ahead and install the hardware going towards the front.

Fasteners will be a bolt, flat washer, and then two more flat washers will go in through the access hole and a bumper bracket, then the block will go on top of that and then the flange nut. We're done with the passenger's side , we will repeat the same process over on the driver's side. Okay. We'll have our hardware loosely installed, we will go ahead and tighten down the hardware, and then torque the holes down as specified in the instructions. Okay.

At this point, with the hitch installed, you can go ahead and reinstall the spare tire. That will finish it for our install Part Number C14002 from Curt on a 2013 Ford F150.
