Option For Adding Lights To A 1up USA Bike Rack
Updated 05/10/2026 | Published 05/06/2026 >
Question:
Good Morning, I’d like to add an additional light to my bike rack. I’m looking for an LED light bar that has left / right turn, stop and running lights in one bar. 1up USA has one but I’d prefer to make my own an avoid spending $200+ dollars. Do you sell such a light? Thanks in advance.

Hi Ray!
I do have a very good option for you, but we do not have a light that will handle all of those functions in a single light bar. With that being said, check out the Curt Auxiliary LED Indicator Lights # C53201.
This is the light kit I typically recommend to anyone looking to add lights to a bike rack or cargo carrier. It comes with a 71" cable (5"11") and has easy to connect plugs for the two lights. Those lights have a very strong adhesive on the back of them and I have had quite a few people say they have been using the same set for multiple years now. It's durable and easy to mount just about anywhere. Plus it's also a lot less the 1up option.
What kind of bikes are you carrying?

I have the Quikrstuff rack added those lights, installed them, had to reposition them so added small zip ties to ensure they stayed secure. They work great.

Durable , easy to connect and stow lights in the sparetire compartment of my Crosstrek. The added security of these lights provide peace of mind on busy roads with or without bikes in the rack. I chose to fix the lights to the bike rack with. 3M™ Dual Lock™ tape. This allows for easy positioning of lights on my inno bike rack tray either up or down. Over the years I’ve siliconed the wires at the connection point to the lights and they’ve never failed.

Ray -- FYI -- I added these lights to my CURT 18113 49 x 22-1/2-Inch Black Aluminum Hitch Cargo Carrier, and have been very pleased with the results.

Ray, I used my on a Thule. I love the simplicity of the bar, as the extra visibility it gives my vehicle when I have the bike rack on. You won’t be disappointed. Trina

Thanks for your response! That looks like the perfect solution. The bikes I’m carrying are a mountain bike and gravel bike. I friend of mine shared that in California bikes extending more than 41” from taillights requires additional light on rear of bike rack. These lights will solve it for me. Thanks again! Ray
