Updated 04/22/2026 | Published 04/16/2026

Question:

I have a 2004 Jayco Qwest and planning on buying 3 replacement tires. Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 12 Vesper Silver Mod Wheel - 4 on 4 - LR C. My question is I need to redo my single axel bearing and grease and wondering if you can help me know what I need to buy. To do this project. Thanks

Hey, Jeff. Thanks for reaching out.

Since your trailer has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern, there are two common bearing setups it could be using, so we’ll want to narrow that down.

One option is a 1" straight spindle, which would use bearing # L44643 for both the inner and outer. A good match for that setup would be the Easy Grease Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-G-EZ-1K.

The other possibility is a slightly larger 1.063" spindle, which uses bearing # L44649. For that setup, you’d be looking at the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-G-2K.

The easiest way to confirm which one you have is to either check the numbers stamped on your existing bearings or measure the spindle where the bearings sit.

Once you’ve got that confirmed, I can help you make sure you’ve got the right seals, grease, and any other parts you’ll need to get everything back together.

What camping trips do you have lined up for the year so far?

I put them on a old COX pop up camper axel . They are a perfect fit . I think it's a 1500 to 1800 lb axel , it had 4 wheel studs on it from the factory .
