This hitch is built for serious towing. With a Class IV rating, it handles up to 10,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 1,000 lbs maximum tongue weight. When used with weight distribution, those numbers go up to 12,000 lbs GTW and 1,200 lbs TW. The 2" x 2" receiver opening gives you the versatility to connect a wide range of towing accessories, from ball mounts to cargo carriers.
You don’t need a lift or specialty tools to get this installed. The fully welded design bolts right onto the frame — no welding or drilling required. Everything you need comes in the complete hardware kit along with installation instructions. One reviewer mentioned installation took longer than expected but said it was still a fun DIY project after following the video guide.
The sturdy, square-tube steel construction is finished with a gloss black powder coat layered over a protective base coat for superior rust resistance. It’s designed to take on tough use and harsh weather while keeping a clean look under the vehicle. The concealed cross tube design helps maintain a tidy appearance while delivering heavy-duty performance.
Each weld is completed by precision robotics to ensure consistent strength and fit. That means fewer gaps, tighter joints, and long-term durability under load. This hitch is engineered for strength and reliability every time you hook up your trailer or haul gear down the road.

Great hitch, well made, easy to install
Very easy to install, I was able to install by myself laying on the ground.. instructions are easy to follow .. i had a great experience with etrailer.com, fast shipping and great product..will consider doing business with them again.
Super heavy duty hitch and pretty easy to install. I did it myself but would recommend an extra set of hands just because bench pressing it into place and then trying to fish the bolts through sucked. The bolt for the ground strap is the wrong size I ended up just sticking it into an aluminum part of the body with a self tapper
It was easy to install everything was there removed the spare tire and had my neighbor holding the hitch in place
Highly recommend this to anyone! It was relatively easy to install (the video attached to the tracking info helped tremendously with that). This hitch is pretty heavy, I managed to install it myself using a jack and a couple jack stands, but it would have been much easier had I offered a buddy a beer to come help me for a few minutes :). Had both the hitch and a wiring harness installed in about 2 hours.
Fast shipping from etrailer. Hitch arrived in good condition. All required parts were included. Install took a little over an hour on my 2019 F150. online video from etrailer was a great help.
Very nice no complaints
I installed the hitch by myself and it was a very easy and straight forward installation. It was 107 degrees here in Arizona so it took a little over an hour with the breaks I took to cool off before continuing. I would definitely recommend this hitch as it is very sturdy and well made.
etrailer has been my go to source now for two F150 trucks I own. Installation on this product for my 2106 Ford F-150 was pretty simple. Two people and a jack make the install much easier. The kit is complete with the hardware and fish wire for the carriage bolts and spacers. Be patient when installing and you'll have the job done in less than an hour. Note: you will need a torque wrench and you must lower the spare tire. Happy install.
Really nice set-up. I already towed several trailers cross-country with no problems. Really increased the tow-capacity (pull & tongue weight) from the stock F150 specs. The install instructions were great and it only took a couple of hours to do myself and they supply the critical throw-away pull wires to fish the bolts through the frame. Best part is, I no longer get grief from trailer rental places who normally won't rent you a trailer if you show-up with the Ford factory bumper mount type hitch.
Everything was great. Although my truck didn’t have the tools I needed to drop the spare tire. After getting that situated it was super easy.
Box was pretty beat up but that is expected as its a odd shape and very heavy. All parts were present. Install was fairly easy but challenging to do alone. Would recommend a strong helper to install. Also torqueing those bolts to 210lbs is not easy on your back under the truck. One Important note, when threading the bolts onto the pull wires be sure to get one strand of wire in each thread as the clearances are pretty tight and if you double them up they do not easily slide through the spacer blocks.
Perfect fit on my ‘19 F150. The videos made installation a breeze.
Installed without problems by myself in the driveway, used a floor jack to lift in-place.
Fit perfectly. Install is mostly intuitive, but the online install video was helpful. Install time about 50 minutes not including instruction review. Would only take about 25-30 minutes or less if I did it again.
FYI: need a 3/4" drive torque wrench and 15/16 socket to torque bolts to a hefty 210 ft-lbs as required.
Had to make bolts work…didn’t exactly f it
2017 F150 XLT. The rear spacer plates for inside frame would not fit through access holes on frame. I spent a long time, first, figuring out what the hell the problem was, and then on phone with customer service who couldn't resolve issue. I was then told a tech would call me back "today or tomorrow." Still no call. It's the dead of winter and I was trying to do this outside on a decent day today. So... I had to take the spacers and grind them down on edges to get them to fit through access holes. The spacers are so imprecisely stamped, they would not fit in access hole. A big waste of a few hours of my time.

John, thank you for your review. The installation instructions state you can either use the fish wire to fish the carriage bolts and spacers through the access holes or the end of the frame rail. Depending on the vehicle it is sometimes easier to just go through the end of the frame with the spacers instead of trying to get them through the access holes. If you do not want to go through the frame then you can always use a file to slightly enlarge the access holes to make it easier. We do not recommend modifying the hardware.
The packaging could be better, it arrived torn with holes in it, but fortunately none of the parts were missing. The hitch itself was in fine condition with one slight scuff on the paint. It fit well and was pretty easy to install. I'm not sure why the rear spacers are C shaped, I had a little trouble taping them in place (per instructions) to the dirty frame. Also one of the spacers overlapped slightly with the grounding screw hole and I had to grind a tiny bit of the edge away to install it. Overall though the installation was easy and went as described in the video. It seems to be a well made quality hitch.
I recently became the owner of a new Ford F-150. The truck had everything I wanted except for the installed OEM customer accessory Class III hitch. I wanted a Class IV hitch and a hitch that was recessed under the truck.
The hitch itself arrived perfectly in a well packed box without any damage. The installation is exactly as described in videos online. However, pulling the fish wire through with the bolts was very challenging due to the tolerances. This did require a lot of wiggling and even back pressure to force the bolts through the spacer holes. This was my only challenge other than finding another helper to lift the hitch.
Another possible observation that I haven't heard anywhere else is the clearance for OEM upgraded tires as part of the FX off road package. The spare tire is a bit larger than the stock tire and there are points on the hitch that actually touch the tire. Not sure if that will be a long term issue or not.
I have attached 2 pictures showing the OEM accessory and CURT hitch. These 2 pictures show help demonstrate how much of the hitches are shown at the same angle. Overall, great well built hitch with a solid coating. Highly recommended.
Unhappy. I message with question whether this would fit my truck that came with. Factory hitch. It requires a sub frame for the bumper.
Lame. This is why I asked.
My Curt Trailer Hitch fit very well on my Ford F150. Ford seems to purposely make it tough to install your own hitch. They could have easily have put access holes in the chassis so that the nuts and bolts could be quickly installed. The guide wires that came with the hitch made it easy to feed the bolts and washers into the frame and pull them through a hole so a nuts can be attached. I was unable to find a hole in my chassis that was big enough to fit one of the bolts through, so I had to grind the side of the head a little so that it would fit through a space in my chassis. The total job took me about 4 hours.
I installed the trailer hitch by myself, so it took me a couple of hours to install. It fit perfectly, without any issues. The etrailer video helped me out alot during install. I highly recommend this item if you need a trailer hitch for your truck! Mine looks great!

Still working strong with no issues whats so ever! Highly recommended!
Very quick response shipping on schedule. No problems. Excellent.
I installed myself with car ramps and a floor jack to help lift the hitch receiver. Possible by yourself but an extra hand is definitely recommended. Great product but needs better instructions.
On time delivery, excellent customer service. Very helpful and knowledgeable on products.

Glad you like it, Mark! What are you typically using it for? Hopefully puppers gets to see all the fun places! ^___^
so I finally installed my new Hitch receiver, and I do have to say. it was a little more challenging then I thought. instructions say 25 min install but its was really like am hour and a half. instruction pictures were too dark to reference from so I went to etrailer YouTube video for guidance. all in all it was a fun install.
