Hi Thomas!

While the Curt hitch # C99RJ will fit your 2026 VW Tiguan, there will be a pretty minimal amount of cutting to complete the install (see included image). It is a pretty small piece that needs to be cut, and it is on the underside of the bumper, so it will not be seen unless you crawl underneath the vehicle.

Other than that part, the rest is pretty straight forward. Just leading some bolts through the frame and tightening everything down. The whole process shouldn't take more than a couple hours at most.

What are you planning on using a hitch for? And is this by chance a leased vehicle? That tends to be why a lot of people ask about the cutting for installs.

@Thomas Dang. Was hoping you weren't going to say that. This is the only hitch currently available for the 2026 Tiguan, but that may change in the near future. I can't say any future hitches won't require cutting as well, but it is a possibility.
