My review is for the poor shipping service from etrailer. This item said on the page that it would take 5 days and it never arrived on time. It took more than 25 days to arrive. They are wasting their time calling me to verify the address. Gentlemen, send it to where it is written, don't waste your time. I needed this item the week I ordered it and it arrived today, August 26th, and it was ordered on July 30th. Horrible service.

I still would not recommend it for the 2024 and up Hyundai Santa Fe. The receiver is about 4 inches to short and sets back under the bumper. I would not have bought it if I had known how it fit.

@Steven Are you saying that you would not recommend the hitch that you bought for your Sante Fe, or this extender? If the hitch receiver sat behind the bumper, this extender should have helped. I would get why you would not want to use an extender since it cuts your capacity in half. Just trying to better understand Steven.

  • Can I Tow A 4,000 lb Boat Using A Hitch Extender?
    Hello Jonathan. I am happy to look into it, but I will need to know the year make and model of the tow vehicle in order to recommend a hitch since they are custom fit. Using extenders is tricky since the weight capacity is reduced by half. Depending on what hitch is available for your vehicle, and the weight rating of that hitch, towing a 4,000 lb boat with a hitch extension may or may not be possible.     Hey Clay, The measurement from center of the hitch pin hole to the first bike tray for the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack # Y88DJ is 16-1/2". The attached photos show where I took the measurement from for reference! Is that enough clearance to fit your bike on that first tray behind your trailer?     Yes, there is Brad. You'll want to use the 18" Long Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank item # EQ90-02-4600. This shank is 6" longer than most of the standard ones you see included with weight distribution systems. It has the same 1-1/4" spacing between adjustment pin holes so it's pretty universal.     Hey Buddy, yes if you use a hitch extension like the Curt # C76DR it will cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent so yeah you would be limited to 175 lbs for the weight of your bikes and bike rack.
