The customer that this item was purchased for was ecstatic at the overall quality of the adapter. He was happy with how well it worked and did what he was hoping for it to do

I still would not recommend it for the 2024 and up Hyundai Santa Fe. The receiver is about 4 inches to short and sets back under the bumper. I would not have bought it if I had known how it fit.

@Steven Are you saying that you would not recommend the hitch that you bought for your Sante Fe, or this extender? If the hitch receiver sat behind the bumper, this extender should have helped. I would get why you would not want to use an extender since it cuts your capacity in half. Just trying to better understand Steven.

Having trouble getting it to fit in one of my receiver hit

by:

Good Quality. Exactly what I wanted.

by:

Use it with our tow car for ebike rack.

by:

Worked perfectly to space my bike rack away from the rear of the vehicle to allow the liftgate to still open with bike rack in closed position.

by:

Should work fine.

by:

It accepts the long shank on my Hollywood bike rack. Seems stouter than other models I tried.

by:

Adds the depth necessary for using a hitch on a bronco with the spare tire in place.

Did what I needed

Servicio horrible .

My review is for the poor shipping service from etrailer. This item said on the page that it would take 5 days and it never arrived on time. It took more than 25 days to arrive. They are wasting their time calling me to verify the address. Gentlemen, send it to where it is written, don't waste your time. I needed this item the week I ordered it and it arrived today, August 26th, and it was ordered on July 30th. Horrible service.

Very pleased. Added just enough length so we can now drop the truck tailgate flat without interfering with anything on the trailer. Perfect solution for loading & unloading dogs, etc. while on-the-road. FORD V-8 F150 towing an Airstream.

  • Can I Tow A 4,000 lb Boat Using A Hitch Extender?
Hello Jonathan. I am happy to look into it, but I will need to know the year make and model of the tow vehicle in order to recommend a hitch since they are custom fit. Using extenders is tricky since the weight capacity is reduced by half. Depending on what hitch is available for your vehicle, and the weight rating of that hitch, towing a 4,000 lb boat with a hitch extension may or may not be possible. Let me know your vehicle and I can look into it.

  • How Long are the Curt Hitch Extenders C45791 C76DR?
Hey Kenyon. Both the Curt Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers item # C45791 and item # C76DR are 8" long hitch extenders. I have attached a couple of diagrams below. Both have a 3,500 lbs towing capacity and a 350 lbs maximum tongue weight. Please note that using any hitch extender will reduce your hitch's capacities by 50%. What are you needing a hitch extender for?

  • Class IV Hitch Receiver Recommendation for 1977 Ford F-150 Ranger 2WD
Hi Lee, The Curt Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver Class IV part # 14001 will fit your 1977 F-150 Ranger. It is designed for the wider framed F-150s like your 37 1/2" frame and the bolt holes for installation are 36" apart. It will require drilling to install and is a fit for the standard pick-up frame. Since your flatbed is over 8.5' long, I'm concerned that the trailer hitch receiver tube will not extend past the end of the flat bed. The length of the hitch receiver tube from the...

  • Measurement from Center of the Hitch Pin Hole to the First Bike Tray
Hey Clay, The measurement from center of the hitch pin hole to the first bike tray for the Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack # Y88DJ is 16-1/2". The attached photos show where I took the measurement from for reference! Is that enough clearance to fit your bike on that first tray behind your trailer? If not, and you need a little more clearance, then check out the 8" Curt Hitch Extender # C76DR. Keep in mind, adding a hitch extender will reduce your tongue weight by 50%.

  • Is there an Extended Weight Distribution System for Better Turning Clearance?
Yes, there is Brad. You'll want to use the 18" Long Equal-i-zer Weight Dist Shank item # EQ90-02-4600. This shank is 6" longer than most of the standard ones you see included with weight distribution systems. It has the same 1-1/4" spacing between adjustment pin holes so it's pretty universal. What is your trailer's loaded weight and do you already have a weight distribution hitch?

  • Recommended Hitch Extender to Clear a Spare Tire on a Thor Tellaro Motorhome
Hey David. You definitely need a hitch extender not a swing away. Those aren't for towing, only accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers. To clear the spare tire on your Thor Tellaro, I have a couple of options depending on how long of an extension you need and how heavy your trailer is. I recommend the Curt Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers item # C76DR if an 8" extension will get you clear of the spare tire and your trailer weighs up to 3,500 lbs. It has a 350 lbs tongue...

  • Will Curt Hitch Extender Cut Hitch Tongue Weight Capacity by 50 Percent for Bike Rack
Hey Buddy, yes if you use a hitch extension like the Curt # C76DR it will cut the tongue weight capacity of the hitch by 50 percent so yeah you would be limited to 175 lbs for the weight of your bikes and bike rack. What do your bikes and rack weigh? It's probably not an ideal solution but if you don't have the capacity you might consider a different bike rack with a longer shank.

  • Solution for Needing 6 inch Hitch Extender that Can Tow 5,000 lb Towing Capacity
The Curt hitch extender part # C76DR is a 6 inch extender but it has a 3,500 lb weight capacity that won't work with a 5,000 lb capacity but I do have a solution with an extra long ball mount like the part # 80232 which is 15-3/4 inch length and would give you the additional length you need while still having the capacity you need.

  • Can The etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar For 2" Hitches #E38FV Be Used With A Hitch Extender?
Yes, Luke, you should be able to use the etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar for 2" Hitch Receivers - Pre-Order # E38FV in combination with a hitch extender such as Curt Hitch Extender for 2" Hitch Receivers - 8" Long # C76DR. I say "should" because you'll need to make sure the extender's 2" tube protrudes at least 1/2" outside of the vehicles receiver lip. It is rare for fitment to be an issue, but I'll elaborate on how to verify fitment. As you can see in the photo, the # C76DR has 3"...

  • Will the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs Provide Enough Bumper Clearance
In regards to the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs part # 13703, the brackets have a built-in offset so you can install them in a manor which pushes the crosstube further out towards the bumper. This will help reduce clearance issues with accessories. That said, I can't confirm if this will give you enough clearance for your exact trailer and accessory combo unfortunately but if not, there are other solutions like a different carriers or hitch extenders like the Curt Hitch...
