Can I Install the Curt Hitch C99RJ on a 2025 VW Tiguan w/out Trimming?

Hi, For my 2025 VW Tiguan I need a hitch. C99RJ is the correct part number according to etrailer. The posted instruction pdf on etrailer states to trim the bumper cover. I am not allowed to modify the bumper cover its a lease car and feedback from customers on your site state they did not need to trim the bumper. Can you confirm bumper cover modification is not necessary? Thanks

Hey Paul. You can indeed install the Curt Hitch item # C99RJ on your 2025 VW Tiguan without trimming. The only issue with not trimming the lower fascia when installing the Curt item # C99RJ is that square tube connecting the receiver touches the trim. This is why Curt recommends in their installation instructions to cut some of it off. The installation instructions regularly over-estimate the amount that needs to be trimmed.
