Will Curt Hitch for 2026 Honda Pilot Require Cutting Bumper

Question:

Will the Curt 13146 trailer hitch fit the new 2026 Honda Pilot. My model does not have the underside door sensor. Also, biggest concert can this hitch model be installed WITHOUT cutting a section of the bumper away. Thank you

Hey Kelly! The Curt 13146 fits 2016 - 2022 Honda Pilot. What you need for your 2026 Honda Pilot is the Curt # C22HR. This has a bolt-on installation and does not require any cutting or trimming of the bumper so you won't be modifying the vehicle.

I bought and installed myself the Curt ITEM # C22HR trailer hitch on my 2025 Honda Pilot EXL. The rear bumper did not need to be changed like if you go through a Honda dealer and Honda OEM trailer hitch. It was very easy to install, just might need a second set of hands to get the first 2-screws in, and it was helpful to get the SUV raised up a bit so there was space to work underneath. I just drove up onto some scrap 2x8's. And BTW, the spar tire wrench fits the bolts that come with the trailer hitch perfectly.

Kelly, I installed this hitch on my 2025 Acura MDX & it fit perfectly without modifying the bumper. Most of the hitch is hidden except for the 2" receiver end. I actually have the rear door sensor but was able to move some of the wiring for this to fit. This hitch works perfect for our bike rack. Note that there's no provisions for mounting the wiring connector for the trailer, so I had to custom make a plate to hold this connector. Very happy with the install & appearance.
