Question:

Hello, trying to decide between two hitches, one the tow smart TS42VR for a 2024 Toyota Rav 4 or Curt C77MJ. Do you know which one is less visible? more hidden? Thanks

Hey Jeff, the Curt hitch part # C77MJ and the TowSmart part # TS42VR are both really great hitches. They are similar enough in design that I wouldn't say one or the other is more hidden. Now if you wanted something totally hidden we have the Oris part # TS66VR which has a removable lower hitch opening that allows it to be totally hidden when not in use. My wife has this hitch on her Rav4 and it's really nice and we like it a lot. Is plan to do some towing?

Got the Curt for my 2025 RAV4 and it’s hidden enough that you only see the receiver.

I think they're both great hitches , but I bought the Curt hitch because I'm familiar with their products. It took me about 29 minutes to install it. I also bought the Curt wiring harness & it took me about 45 minutes to install. My vehicle is a 2025 Toyota Rav 4 PHEV.

Thanks Jameson, that hitch is a nice one, I'll stick to the cheaper ones though. Thanks for the help. The plan is only for a bike rack at this moment.

The Curt comes out below the fascia or bumper. I find it well hidden but the one that comes from Toyota goes through the fascia and it is a little higher. I found that to be important to reduce contact with bumps in the street and the cargo carrier attached to the hitch dragging. I like the 2-inch receiver. I wouldn't want to cut a square hole in the fascia just to get it higher though. Hope that helps.
