Super quality hitch American made. Straight forward install no need to lower muffler. Fit and finish and hardware was top notch. I would recommend this hitch if a hitch in this weight range is needed for your Toyota RAV4. My need for this hitch was for hauling two heavy e bikes along with the bike rack weight I needed more VTW weight capability and this hitch was 675lbs. I also installed the light harness kit to complete the package.
I chose this trailer hitch because it was a 3 piece design which made it easier to install on my 2025 RAV4 PHEV. The hitch is fairly heavy and had I chosen a 1 piece design, I would have needed help installing it.
Installation took me approximately 45 minutes and I took this long only because the passenger side was a little tight getting to the mounting holes. Otherwise, this installation was a breeze and it looks great on my vehicle.
The engineering on this hitch is spot on and everything is straight after installation. I have bought hitches from U-Haul, and sometimes their hitches are not made/assembled properly. When using a hitch step bumper, it will be crooked and not look right. This B&W hitch is perfect!
I would definitely recommend this trailer hitch.
First time hitch receiver owner and installer here, so take that for what it’s worth. The weight and thickness of material for this hitch receiver seemed substantial to me. I have no doubt in its abilities. The installation is done in such a way that I was able to install it myself. Once installed I measured the ground clearance and it gives 8.5 inches of clearance which is right in-line with the ground clearance of my 2023 RAV4 XLE hybrid, so no complaints there. I’d recommended to friends or family.

The install looks great! Looks like a pro installed it. What kind of bike are you carrying?
I'm 73 with arthritis...took me a couple of hours without any special tools. Most of the time was spent on the passenger side bolts. Curse you RAV4! Installation was done without lifting car. Did have to drop the exhaust.

Install looks great, Kerry! I was just talking to a guy that managed to install it without dropping the exhaust, but he did have to lift it up on jack stands. Still said the passenger side was a pain in the butt, so it wasn't just you! What will you be using the hitch for?
Great hitch if you are looking to install it yourself. You can loosely install the end plates before connecting the cross member with hitch. I did on a 2025 RAV4 without having to remove any car parts in 30 minutes.
Was easy to install and i did not have to drop the muffler as in the install video for my 2025 Rav4 XSE Prime. I just had to push on it a little to get one of the screws into the cross bracket. My only complaint with it is i wish they placed the safety chain holders on each side of the front of the receiver opening instead of so far back and awkward to hook the chains up.
UPS first time ever delivered an undamaged package. Installation a breeze no need to lower exhaust would’ve made it a tad easier but don’t waste your time. I undercoated my hitch as finish could be nicer but for $200 I’m not complaining. Third hitch I’ve purchased from etrailer, bike rack from them is next.
I bought it had it delivered and took it to a guy that does stuff like that. He put it on for me with the lighting connection and it looks great. Getting ready to use it probably next week sometime but I’m sure it’s gonna be just great. Got here just right on time after ordering it. The salesman was great. I had gotten an etrailer brand hitch for my car years ago and that thing was just wonderful.
I thing I really like about this is I won’t be hitting my shin on it.
I purchased this hitch because it came in three parts, and I thought the installation would be easier, since I knew I was going to install it myself with out a lift. The installation was harder than I expected--again mostly because I did it by myself and without the benefit of having the vehicle on a lift and without lowering the exhaust. It took me about two hours, and the spacing is very tight. In fact I still need to torque it better before I actually use it to pull anything or put a bike rack on the car. Again, without the benefit of having the car lifted, and because of the tight space, I didn't really have the correct torque wrench or extensions I needed. They are coming via Amazon--lol. Having said all of this, I did get it on, and it looks great. You really can't see the cross bar at all, only the square receiver receptacle. The fit and finish are good. All the parts fit as they were suppose to. I do think next time I will either have it done by a professional, or I will find someone with a lift. The installation with the benefit of a lift would make the install more like a half hours job.
The hitch looks solid and I think it will work fine for my application. The support from etrailer has been wonderful. I called before my order shipped and they were able to put my order on hold while my questions were addressed and it still got here in 2 days. Customer support from a knowledgeable, live agent seems to be a rare thing. Etrailer doesn’t just sell the products, they will help you choose the right product and follow up to make sure you are happy with it!

I chose the B&W Hitch Receiver because of the design with two side plates and separate cross bar, which made it easier to install. A side benefit is it also packs more compactly and consequently arrived in perfect condition in a heavy
duty box with no protruding parts. Installation was straight forward. I had to remove the tie down bracket from the passenger side frame rail, and since our RAV 4 does not have the hands free liftgate option that was not an issue.
One consideration is there is only about 3/4" clearance between the side plates and the exhaust tips so using a ratchet to tighten the bolts for the crossbar was not possible without lowering the exhaust or using a wrench for tightening and torquing the bolts.
Would definitely recommend and would buy again.
The trailer hitch arrived in perfect condition. I was impressed on the quality. I am very impressed with the Phone Rep Brittany. Brittany was so helpful, and explained the different options between all the products. I also found the shipping was in perfect condition. I would order from the E trailer company again. Perfect fit on my 2024 Toyota Rav4. This hitch is easily installed by one person without a lift or floor jack. The end plates are attached to the car frame and then the hitch tube is bolted to the end plates, see photos. No need to lower the exhaust system as with a one-piece hitch. Needed an adapter for the torque wrench on the passenger side plate bolts. Found this (K Tool International 49403) on amazon and it worked perfectly to tighten plate to frame bolts to 85 ft-lb. You might also be able to use a torque wrench dog-bone adapter, as shown in another etrailer hitch install video (for Curt # C66KR Class 2 hitch).
This came in 3 pieces, set up was easy to install. Installing was easier keeping the bracket bolts loose and installing the hitch to the car then tightening down after.
The trailer hitch receiver arrived safely. Per the photos, packaging is excellent. One minor scuff on the box appears to have been made externally in shipping. Hope to install soon. Instructions are very straightforward.

It has nothing for connecting safety chains. That should be standard.

It was a good price, arrived very quickly and my mechanic said it was easy to install. Can’t get any better than that.
Came in tho not postive if it was shipper or my mom when box fell but the cross bar of hitch was sticking outside box when recieved. Everything from what i saw was accounted for glad they had the hardware tapped in the hitch.

Very easy to install. Toyota rav4 does not have much clearance so I used my vehicle lift. Used a rolling table underneath so I did not have to lift the hitch receiver very much to align the bolt holes.
The installation was easy and 30 minutes was an accurate estimate. Exhaust and bumper did not need ti be removed or altered.
Perfect fit. Went on by me in my driveway without a Hitch. Please pardon the pun. Customer Service was Excellent!
