Does this AC unit need/work with a soft start like a SoftstartRV, or does it not need one like many of the inverter type ACs?

Hey Lars, welcome back! The Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR65TD has a built in start capacitor that gives you an extra boost to help jump-start the AC. You would not need to add a additional soft start to this setup. You won't have to worry about a power surge tripping the breaker and leaving you stranded in the heat.

The Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR65TD comes with everything you need to get up and running. It's got a 15,000 btu AC unit and includes a air distribution box that can be used in ducted or ductless setups. This kit also has an external thermostat you can use to adjust the settings.
