Didn't have a chance to really test out the heat strip but it is nice to have to add a little heat to the vents to take the chill off. I do not like the operation of the control box. Thermostat reads the wrong reading. Furrion wants you to have the fan constantly running to give accurate reading but that brings in so much humidity and also is so loud and not energy efficient. Will be returning product.

  • Can a Heat Strip be Added to the Furrion Chill Cube AC Units?
Hey Elvin, thanks for reaching out! At this point in time (May of 2025) Furrion doesn't have a heat strip option for their Chill Cube line of AC units. What I recommend doing is using one of the newer R32 Furrion Chill HE AC Units so you can use the Heat Strip Add-On # FR63PR. If you let me know what AC unit you're wanting to replace, I can see if we have something that is direct compatible, or if you need to replace the entire system.

  • Will the Furrion Heat Strip Add-On FR35SR Fit a 2026 Forest River Wolf Pup?
Hey Greg, congrats on your new trailer. What kind of AC unit does your Forest River have? Forest River doesn't post what specific AC system you have and I can't tell what it is by your picture. The Furrion Heat Strip Add-On item # FR35SR fits the older model Furrion Chill manual ac systems. If you could give me a model or part number off of your AC, I'll be able to tell if the Furrion item # FR35SR will work or see if we have one that does. You can add this information, along with any...

  • Furrion Chill Cube Multi-Zone RV AC Setup for Replacing Coleman Units
Hi Richard, that’s a great question and you’re smart to look into this ahead of time before those original units need to be replaced. The Furrion Chill Cube 18K part # FR49TD is not designed to be a direct plug-and-play replacement for a Coleman system, especially on a fully ducted setup like your Tuscany. The main issue is communication and controls, since Furrion and Coleman use different control systems and wiring, so there isn’t a simple adapter cable that will make them directly compatible....

  • What is the Difference Between the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System FR45PV and FR65TD?
Hey Lars you are correct. The only difference between the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR45PV and item # FR65TD are the LED lights built into the air distribution box and the different thermostat capable of controlling them. The thermostat included with the Furrion Chill HE item # FR45PV can be used in multi-zone setups as well as control the LED lights in the air distribution box. If you were going to add an additional Furrion Chill HE AC system you could control...

  • Looking For Replacement Ac Units For My 2000 Blue Bird Wanderlodge
Hey Paul, Since we do not have an exact replacement for that Penguin I recommend the Furrion 13,500 BTU Chill HE # FR85TD, with the added on heat strip # FR63PR. These AC systems do require a distribution box inside in order to operate. Is does include a multi-zone thermostat and controller in the kit that would allow individual control of different units in different areas. The Furrion units are going to be the most efficient and quietest out of the brands we carry making for a great...

  • Is There A Heat Strip Option For The Furrion Chill Cube AC Unit?
Hello Nancy, thanks for reaching out. And Congrats on the new camper! Those Chill Cubes are great AC units but at this time there is not a heat strip option for them. We have been told that Furrion does plan to make one eventually, but as of right now there is no ETA for when that would be available. They do make the Chill Cube with a heat pump, but that is not a simple add-on and would require replacing the entire AC unit. If you really need to add heat capability right away, that would...

  • What AC Unit Is Recommended For Installation On A Cargo Trailer?
Hey Steve, thanks for reaching out. The Dometic # DMC26ZR is not approved for cargo trailers because of the roof strength and thickness. Most cargo trailers do not have a reenforced roof structure capable of supporting an AC unit (around 80 lbs). AC units can be added to cargo trailers but in most cases your would need to build out and reenforce the roof. Also if you were to install an AC unit that is not approved for a cargo trailer it will void your warranty. All that being said, we...

  • Need To Replace 13,500 BTU Dometic Ac Unit In 2020 Pioneer Camper
Hello Jimmy, thanks for reaching out. To replace your Dometic 13,500 BTU AC unit, I recommend the Furrion Chill HE # FR82PV. This is a 13,500 BTU unit just like your Dometic. The Furrion unit comes with a conversion kit which allows it to be directly compatible with your current Dometic AC system. So all of you ceiling registers and thermostat will stay in place and work exactly the same, only with colder air. A heat strip can be added, and for that use part # FR63PR.

  • Can Furrion Chill HE Heat Strip be Used in Multi Zone Setup
Hey Chris, the control module of the head strip add on part # FR63PR that you referenced does have dip switches that allow you to assign it to a specific zone when used in a multi zone Furrion Chill HE setup so it will work great for you in that regard. We don't have any pictures that show the dip switches but that's our fault for not taking better pictures.

  • Recommended AC Unit & Heat For Cargo Trailer
Hi Steve, There is a good option for an AC unit that will allow heat for a cargo trailer, but there aren't any AC units that run off 12 volts (with the exception of the thermostat), only 115V. If you're okay with that then the best unit is the Furrion Chill HE, which you can get in either White or Black: - White: Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR55PV - Black: Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR23PV These are 15,000 Btu units for the most cooling power, and...

  • Does the Furrion Chill HE FR65TD Need a Soft Start or Does it Have One Built In?
Hey Lars, welcome back! The Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR65TD has a built in start capacitor that gives you an extra boost to help jump-start the AC. You would not need to add a additional soft start to this setup. You won't have to worry about a power surge tripping the breaker and leaving you stranded in the heat. The Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR65TD comes with everything you need to get up and running. It's got a 15,000 btu AC unit and...
