I have a 2024 Ford Maverick hybrid. Please direct me to a list of what I need to install Roadmaster materials for flat tow. I also need a demco braking system, and a battery charger. Thank you.

Hi Peter!

I have a full Roadmaster flat towing set up listed below for your 2024 Ford Maverick Hybrid, as well as the Demco braking system. Good call going with these brands as well. All the parts I have listed are American made! Oh, before you check out said parts, I do want to mention that I included a tow bar and safety cables. If you already have them, you can skip those parts.

Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM97RR
Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 6,000 lbs # RM-520
RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000 lbs # RM-643
Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25 (Motorhome Side # RM-156-75)
Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267

For the Demco braking system, does your RV have air brakes or hydraulic brakes? I have options for both listed below, but make sure before you decide.

Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Wireless Monitoring - Proportional # DM26VR
Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo Braking System for RVs w/ Hydraulic Brakes - Wireless Monitor - Proportional # DM86VR

The only other thing you may want is the Roadmaster Tow Defender Protective Screen for Towed Vehicles # RM-4750. This keeps road debris from flying up and hitting the front of your new Maverick, so it is definitely a good idea to have. Not 100% necessary as most RVs have pretty beefy mud flaps these days, but I do like to mention it.

And on that note, what kind of RV are you going to be towing your Maverick with?

The baseplate has worked great for my 2024 Maverick. The only issue I had with installation was the Pedestrian Alert Device on the Maverick has very short leads. Be careful with that. I did not use a built in braking system, I had an older brake buddy that still works fine so I use it, I’ve towed this Maverick about 10000 miles now without issue.

@Ted Thanks for the heads up on the Pedestrian Alert Device! I don't think we have run into that before so I'm sure it will be helpful to people down the road!

I installed a Roadmaster baseplate on my 2024 Maverick and the thing I liked most about it was I didn't to make any cuts in the bumper and when the removable tow arms are removed you barely know its there!!

the roadmaster direct-connect base plate looks and works great no alteration to the bumper cover or grill. I used all the products listed except the towbar I went with the e-trailer towbar saved some $$$ and the safety cable come with and attached to the e-trailer towbar clean look and no chance of dragging them on the ground. I used the demco stay and play duo works great when in use turn one switch on and when not towing turn off and you wont know its there. If you are fairly handy I installed the whole system myself only needing help to lift the bumpercover-grill off and put back on. lots of wirering to do but with all the video that walk you thur step by step and even give you the color code for all wires you are looking for
