Question:
I have a 2010 Toyota Camry XLE with the 3.5l V6. Is there any 2” hitch I can purchase for this model? I know its tow rating puts it into the 1.25” category only but I’m not using it to tow. I need it for one purpose only, to get our e-bikes to and from the beach, work, rides, etc. With the rack and both bikes the weight is 200 pounds max. The problem is all good, trustworthy e-bike racks are for a 2” hitch. Seeing that it’ll never see a tongue weight over 225lbs and never tow anything would it be ok to use a 2” hitch in this instance?

Hello Joshua, thanks for reaching out. I wish I had better news but there isn't a 2" hitch receiver made for the 2010 Toyota Camry. Like you said, the vehicles tow rating puts it in the 1-1/4" category, and hitch manufacturers just don't make 2" receivers for it.
That said, there are some solid bike racks that will work with the class II 1-1/4" receiver on a Camry. What I recommend is the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack # HLY74FR. It can carry two e-bikes weighing up to 80 lbs apiece. It can accommodate tires up to 5" wide and wheelbases up to 60". it has built-in locks, as well as a tilting/folding feature. This is definitely the most sturdy, trustworthy option for a 1-1/4" hitch.
Also, for your 2010 Camry XLE, the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12343 is what you will need.
What kind of bikes do you have? How much to they weigh?

I have a 1-1/4inch hitch on my 2007 Lexus ES350 and it works great for towing a jetski.

I have a 2009 Camry. I ride an E-bike. You can get a converter that goes from 1 1/4 to 2" and buy a heavy duty 2" E-bike rated bike rack. Works great.

I bought the specified hitch for a Camry and I KNOW I had tongue weight above 200lbs on it. (I towed a 16ft boat) I am quite sure if one put an adapter on the 1 1/4 hitch to accept a 2” receiver, one could haul bikes without a problem. Just my 0.02! I am NOT LIABLE FOR ANY ISSUES! ??
