Lexus

Got my trailer hitch for our Lexus two days early. Took it to a local shop and they installed it in one hour. It looks like the car came from the factory with it on. It was engineered perfectly! Will send photo.

by:
Lexus ES 350

Looks fantastic on the Lexus ES350 you can hardly tell it's there. Had to lower the dual exhaust a ince or two but barely noticable. Item was too heavey for the boxing and was coming out of the box when delivered. Took 1.5 hours to install by one person and a perfectionist.

by:

Excellent productThe product was as advertised, recived in timely manner, and installation was as advertised.

by:

Nice hitch, mounted up perfectly. The video instructions made installation FAST and EASY!

by:

I was very satisfied with your the assistance from the sales personnel, secretaries, and the promptness and arrival of my car hitch. Keep up the good work!

by:

Took longer to install. The hitch quality is wonderful. But the wires for the lights had to be run along the inside of the car to the battery. We assumed that would not have been the manner of hook up.

by:
2011 Toyota Camry

Very well constructed, relatively easy to install, with hole alignment the most troublesome. Would have been easier with two people or if the car had been on a lift.

Installed it on a 2011 Toyota Camry.

Install of the #12343 HitchWhen I ordered the hitch I was unsure of the product and the stated install time, some companies will say anything to "sell the product". I received the hitch a lot sooner than I expected and the install went extremely smooth and I easily installed it under the time given. I have been a metal worker/welder most of my working life and the hitch is well built and looks good, I couldn't be happier. I am sick of Chinese junk, I buy American made when I can and I love the "made in the USA" label. Good job guys! Jerry S.

by:

Havent' installed yet, but product arrived well packed, tightly wrapped, with all hardware required and clear, printed instructions on installation. I purchased this unit from this company because of the excellent on-line installation video, the information (which let me select a unit 7 pounds lighter than the others but with a higher tow rating), and the ease of use of the website. They shipped within 24 hours and the hitch arrived in 3 days, with free shipping. Product is in excellent shape, very well painted, and ready to install. All parts and fasteners are present. I will definitely use this company again if I need their products.

by:

Fantastic service! Shipped fast (even faster than advertised). The online tutorials were very helpful! I had my tow hitch up and running in no time, thank you for a great experience!

by:

Shipping was very fast. Product was easy to install and mounted up to strong part of the car's body where the factory had placed weld nuts. The hitch is attractive beneath the bumper and I gave it a coat of wax!

by:
2007 Toyota Camry

TWO MAN JOB! Hitch went on just as described, but definitely NOT a one man job. Prior to purchase I was having a hard time finding info anywhere online about installation on '07 Camry with DUAL EXHAUST. Bought hitch anyway, and can verify that it DOES WORK with dual exhaust setup. Exhaust system was well enough supported that we did not need to use additional support after removing bolts. Be sure hitch brackets are sandwiched BETWEEN frame and exhaust brackets when installing. Excellent design of hitch ensures there is minimum clearance between bottom of bumper and top of hitch, so you get maximum road clearance. Have not pulled anything with it yet, but design looks really SOLID with four bolts in each the two brackets.

by:

I was concerned when the box arrived with a taped up hole where the hitch punched through. Luckily the hitch flanges were flat and hole patterns aligned to the car frame. The hitch installed perfectly. I had only one slight complication on this 2010 Lexus ES350. The M10 bolt most outboard on the driver's side is somewhat blocked by the muffler tip. Torquing this bolt required a 6-point socket while flexing the muffler inboard to avoid damaging the bolt head. I appreciate that the end of the receiver tube does not protrude past the bumper. This is a well designed trailer hitch.

by:
2011 Lexus ES 350

Very sturdy hitch and I'm pleased in the end. However, for my 2012 Lexus ES 350, I did have to enlarge one of the eight holes in the hitch to align with those of the car as there was no possibility of inserting this one bolt. The car has never been in an accident to misalign these mounting points so I fault the manufacture of the hitch. So, down the hitch came to do the alteration but in the end it went in easily and is very sturdy.

Toyota

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver was delivered on time and arrived in very good condition.
I had watched the on line installation video to get an idea of the steps needed. This confirmed that I could install it with the pre existing weld nuts and support provided by Toyota. The actual instructions provided with the hitch were sufficient without the video.
I would recommend this hitch for this vehicle. Very simple and easy even while laying underneath the back bumper. No lift required.

2009 Toyota Camry

My Iowa 2009 Camry has been in a garage it's whole life, so, that helped a lot.
Used [online] etrailer video for ease of work. I took longer than they did as I had to work a bit to de-rust a couple of female bolt threads enough to get a bolt on easily.

2010 Lexus ES 350

Love the 1 1/4 receiver hitch on my 2010 Lexus ES350. Don't see many Lexus' with trailer hitch but I absolutely love it for hauling my bikes off the back with my Kuat carrier. Ground clearance is excellent as are aesthetics!

by:
2007 Toyota Camry

Although I bought the product specifically listed for my car - it took hours for my son-in-law to install it because the holes on the car and the trailer did not match up.
(Now that has been installed, it works well.)

by:
2011 Toyota Camry

Good clear directions from Curt, and a GREAT video from etrailer.com. Only issue in install was the weld nut in the sheet metal support of the muffler hanger was rusted on for me. Had to use a dremel to grind it off, but that is typical here in Wisconsin with road salt, and a seven year old car. Hitch and hardware was great.

The one other annoyance was that the UPC needed for the Curt rebate was stuck to the hitch from Curt so I had to take it off with care for my rebate. Well worth the rebate.

  • Looking For Trailer Hitch For 2009 Toyota Camry
Hello Chris. We do offer a hitch for the 2009 Toyota Camry. For that I recommend the Curt Class 2 Hitch # C12343. This has a 1-1/4" receiver and is rated for towing up to 3,500 lbs. You will find a link to our install video linked below. If you plan to tow a trailer you will also need the Curt T-Connector # C55567.

Yes, we do have a hitch that will fit your 2008 Toyota Camry SE V6, but the item you selected, Curt Trailer Hitch, part # 12343, will not fit the SE model of the Camry. I would recommend the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver, part # 36416, which is a Class II 1-1/4 Inch Hitch. Hey Richard, for your 2011 Toyota Camry LE V6 with the dual exhaust, I actually recommend the Draw-Tite Hitch # 36416. So, the dual exhaust is not an exclusion. I have included a few pictures below with examples.

Hello Douglas, You will need to check your owners manual to see what Toyota says your Camry can tow, just because a hitch is rated higher doesn't mean you should be towing that much with your vehicle. The highest rated hitch that we have fitting your 2009 Toyota Camry is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class II - 1-1/4" # C12343. • Is A 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Available For A 2009 Toyota Camry
On the 2009 Toyota Camry, all of the hitches available are Class II 1-1/4 inch hitch openings. The hitches will have a 3,500 lb. Gross Towing Weight and a 300 lb. or 350 lb. Tongue Weight. There is not a 2 inch hitch available for your vehicle, because a 2 inch hitch has to be rated as a Class III and a Class IV hitch. That means that the vehicle would have to be able to tow weights ranging from 3,500 lbs. to 12,000 lbs. The frame on your Toyota Camry would not be able to handle towing...

What you will need to do is loosely install all of the hardware so that you can get all of the bolts started and then once they are all started then torque them all down.

I took a look at the installation instructions for both the Curt # C12343 hitch and the Draw-Tite # 36416 hitch to see if any fascia would need to be trimmed, and the Curt mentions that it may require fascia trimming. However, the Draw-Tite # 36416 will not, as you can see in the installation video I've linked showing the Draw-Tite being installed on a 2008 ES 350, which will be the same as on your '07 model.

Based on my research, the 2009 Lexus ES 350 has a towing capacity of 1,000 pounds. I was able to find this information in section 2-5 of the vehicle's online owner's manual. I recommend checking your owner's manual to confirm this information. The trailer hitch I recommend for your 2009 Lexus ES 350 is the Curt Class II Receiver Hitch # C12343. • Can My 2010 Toyota Camry Class 2 Hitch Tow a 1,720 lb Trailer
Great question Henry! For any and all towing setups you'll be limited by the least rated part of the towing gear. Your 2010 Toyota Camry being equipped with a Class II hitch with a 3,500 lb tow rating, like the Curt # C12343, is great, but when I looked up the online owner's manual for your vehicle it listed your vehicle as only being able to tow up to 1,000 lbs. • Can a 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Mount Accessory be Used on a 1-1/4 Inch Hitch on a 2011 Toyota Camry
It is possible to use your 2 inch accessories in a class II, 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch. You would have to use a hitch expander, 1-1/4 to 2 inch. However, the use of an expander will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. It appears that the vast majority of trailer hitches for a 2011 Toyota Camry have a tongue weight capacity of 300 pounds. When using an expander, like # 80303, that capacity will be cut down to 150 pounds. This means that the weight of any...
