Flat Tow Wiring for 2025 Jeep Gladiator

Updated 02/10/2026 | Published 02/03/2026

Question:

I have a 2025 Jeep Gladiator Mojave. I installed a Blue Ox baseplate for towing behind our motor home. I am looking for the easiest and cleanest wiring installation for the brake light hook-up on the Gladiator. I think the baseplate has a location to mount the plug. I can’t tell what would go there and I will need to go from that to the 7pin on the motor home. What would you recommend?

Hey Paul! Wiring like the Curt # C96JR is plug and play which makes for a pretty simple installation. However, it isn't the most reliable, and you won't be able to add a charge line without swapping out the connector on the end. When you're flat towing a nice vehicle like a 2025 Gladiator you want to make sure you have the best setup.

I recommend using the Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267. This does require splicing but it is the most reliable option out there. If you have ParkSense on your Gladiator you need the Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit # RM63MR instead. Both of these have a 6-way connector that will mount on your Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BLU53FR bracket.

If your brake system doesn't include a charge line you can add the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit # RM-156-25 as well.

Do you have the rest of your parts picked out to set up the Gladiator?

I installed the Roadmaster Diode set myself on my 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. It's extremely easy, although the paperwork looks intimidating, it was less than an hour to install. A good pair of wire strippers and a good crimper are essential. It's basic electronics turning 2 inputs into 1 output to your light. The Diode acts as a one-way path for the signal, and isolates the voltages. Braking is just as important as signaling and etrailer has everything you'll need along with some great installation videos. The more to prep the better.
