Question:

Just bought a 2025 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon X. Have a Blue Ox tow bar for my RV. What parts do I need to install flat towing kit and Air Force One braking setup? Also, is any cutting needed, or just direct mount? Hoping it mounts below bumper.

Hello Rob, thanks for reaching out, and congrats on the new Jeep! We can absolutely provide all the parts you need to flat tow your Gladiator Rubicon with your Blue Ox tow bar. Here is what I recommend:

- Blue Ox Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # BLU53FR

- Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267

- Demco Air Force One Flat Tow Brake System for RVs w/ Air Brakes - Wireless Monitoring - Proportional # DM26VR

- Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25

A few quick notes. If your Jeep is equipped with the ParkSense feature, you will need the Smart Diode Kit # RM63MR instead of the # RM-15267.

Also, you may need a drop hitch like part # BLU28XR to compensate for any height differences between the base plate arms and the hitch on your motorhome. Any difference of more than 3" will require a drop hitch. If the drop hitch is used, Safety Cable Extensions # RM-910648-10 will also be required.

Please note the # BLU53FR is intended for models with the factory plastic bumper. The base plate installation will require some trimming of the belly pan. The front bumper must temporarily be removed, but it will go back on without any trimming. The base plate arms mount right underneath the bumper. Take a look at the picture I included and the install video I linked for you below.

I have ParkSense, as well as the steel front bumper. You state that BLU53R is intended for plastic front bumper. Please advise.

@RobS Got it so since you have ParkSense you will need the # RM63MR instead of the # RM-15267. The # BLU53FR will work with the factory steel bumper as well.

@Rob Yes! Take a look at the base plate instructions linked below on this page. On page 9 they go over how/where to trim and they show a few pictures.
