This kit keeps the front of your vehicle clean when you’re not towing. The removable arms twist out easily and leave only the receivers behind, so nothing sticks out past the bumper. Snap-in receiver covers keep dirt and debris out and give the front end a finished look. The low-profile design sits tight against the frame for a subtle appearance that blends right in.
Connecting your tow bar takes just a few seconds. Each arm slides into the receiver and locks in place with a simple twist, then secures with a pull pin. When it’s time to unhook, just pull the pin, rotate, and lift the arms out. It’s an easy setup that makes solo hook-ups smooth and frustration-free.
The base plate bolts directly to the chassis using included mounting hardware—no welding required. Its sturdy steel build spreads towing forces evenly across the frame to help reduce stress on suspension components. This heavy-duty construction gives you confidence for long-distance towing without worry.
The lugs pair perfectly with Blue Ox tow bars for a secure, reliable connection. If you’re already running Roadmaster or Demco gear, it’s adaptable using their respective adapters (RM-031, RM-031-5, or DM9523041, sold separately). Integrated mounting points also let you attach an electrical connector bracket up front to keep your wiring organized and easy to reach.
This is a bolt-on project most DIYers can handle over a weekend. The kit includes all required hardware and installs directly to existing chassis points, so there’s no need for special tools or fabrication. With clear instructions and precise alignment, you’ll have a solid base ready for thousands of miles of reliable towing.

Every item fit well and was easy to install. Had to order two little parts to complete the installation and the service department was a big help assuring I go the correct parts. Bracket for under the seat to connect the air cylinder. A bracket and light switch for the indicator light on the motorhome dash.
I've owned and installed three different Blue Ox base plate kits and all have performed perfectly. etrailer always has the parts I need and you can't beat their informative videos if you're a DYIer!
Parts pack was opened and the box had several holes from shipping, inside the box bolts and nuts were scattered throughout the box. I hope all of what is needed to install this baseplate is there. This is the my second order with etrailer where parts were scattered throughout the box and the box was damaged. the first was a 10k pound receiver hitch, were several bolts were missing.
It took us a while to get the correct Base Plate to fit on our new Jeep Gladiator. We were trying to be compatible with our other Blue Ox towing equipment. We also wanted a single plate with no added piecing. This is the best and was easy to install. We have been towing all over on rugged twisty roads. The smooth towing of our jeep behind our RV makes life easy. No sway or issues even on windy curvy roads.
Will do a more thorough review after installation. Very prompt delivery!!!! One day only. Ordered Thursday. Delivered on Friday!!! Almost too quick as I’m not back yet to inspect and start installation. Haha. 5 stars on delivery and customer service for sure !!!
Heavy duty bar! Had to cut slots in the skid plate with a grinder. No advice so trimmed a little at a time until it fit good then cleaned up and painted plate an orange that matches the trim on the Jeep Gladiator Mojave.

Still holding torque and 0 rust so really a nice piece.
Well made, reliable and easy to install.
Everything works as should.
Fit perfectly and has held up well still looks like new. Installed it a year ago, pulled my Gladiator from NY to Utah with no problems.

This base plate it flawless and works perfectly
It's a good base plate but the directions for a jeep gladiator Rubicon are almost nonexistent etrailer has only videos of the easy models no Rubicon
I installed this on a 2021 Gladiator Rubicon. Installation was pretty straight forward the more difficult step is the cutting of the steel belly pan but with some patience I was pleased with the finished look. Although the parts diagram showed item 8, a spacer, it is not mentioned in step 10 of the installation directions. Be sure to install these spacers to avoid damaging the baseplate.
Good, sturdy baseplate from BlueOx. My only recommendations would be for etrailer to update the product summary and Blue Ox to update the manual. You can look at the picture and pretty much tell that it isn't 'hidden'. The crossbar is definitely in front of the belly plate: not a deal breaker for me and it isn't obnoxious either, just not hidden (see the Roadmaster fittings if you really want less metal and see the pictures below). The BlueOx installation manual has SEVERAL wrong sizes annotated for bolts: again, not a big deal if you actually have a socket set (grab the one you need). The manual is otherwise very well done: if you follow it, you won't have any problems. Be sure you have a reaming bit, or a good hack saw, or a side cutter: you will have to cut a tab on the front bracket of the frame.
We bought this base plate one year ago. I installed it on our 2021 JLU Wrangler that we tow with a class a motorhome. Let me start by saying this is not our first TOAD, we had a '17 Wrangler that I put a no-name (China) plate on just to try and save a couple bucks. That was a mistake! Installing a part that is this critical you want all the parts to fit properly and use quality hardware. This Blue Ox base plate made installation easy and paired nicely with our Blue Ox tow bar. I would highly recommend it. Shipping and support from etrailer is always great.
I installed the Blue Ox Base Plate kit myself over a weekend. Bolted right up to my 2023 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon just as advertised. Instructions provided with the kit were helpful. Once I trimmed the metal front skid plate it bolted up nicely.
Great, well constructed base plate for my Blue Ox Tow set up. Instructions were good, took about 3 hours to remove bumper and make the mods needed for installation and re-install bumper. Great service and advice from eTrailer prior to purchase. Have not towed my Gladiator yet, but should be no problem as I had a Blue Ox setup on my 2003 TJ and towed it on several long trips.
