Question:

Does this hitch work with the 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV? I don’t see a plug in hybrid option noted explicitly. Thanks!

Hey Eduardo! The etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e79ZV does not fit the PHEV Outlander. There are too many differences between the regular vehicle and the PHEV so it requires a hitch with a different design. The Curt # C86FV is specifically designed for PHEV models and the best option for your vehicle. The only exception is if you want a removable receiver, in which case get the EcoHitch Stealth # EH64CR.

What will you be using the hitch for?

I have the hitch and wiring plug on my 2023 Outlander PHEV and installation was straight forward. You will need some gloss black Rustoleum paint to touch up before install because the hitch is inadequately protected by the box.

Thank you, primarily used for a bike rack and maybe cargo platform. So tongue weight important more than tow capacity

@Eduardo the # C86FV has a max tongue weight of 200 lbs, the EcoHitch # EH64CR is 400 lbs. Keep in mind, you may be limited by the tongue weight capacity of your vehicle. Just because the EcoHitch can handle 400 lbs doesn't mean your Outlander can. Make sure you check your manual to see what the vehicle is capable of.
