After extensive cutting of stamped steel bumper supports, not just plastic, I managed to fit this to my vehicle. The instructions are awful and illegible for a $500 hitch. The bolts used are an unnecessary mix of metric and imperial, even though they are almost exactly the same size, so good luck figuring out which is which. The instructions could have said metric is galvanized, imperial is brass but they apparently dont care about making this easy so they just didnt say it. You better get out a decent ruler to measure to determine which bolt is which Some plastic cutting is an enormous understatement, I had to cut stamped sheet metal. The fit is not really a fit, this hitch must have been made for another vehicle, and EcoHitch just tells you to cut until it fits apparently. Not ideal. It was significantly easier to install a gas version hitch on my previous 2023 Outlander PHEV, than to install this fits the PHEV Outlander hitch on my 2026.
Really nice hitch. Installation should have been a breeze but the bolts were very hard to catch and thread in. Very happy with quality and style. Just to confirm this will also fit on the gas version!

EcoHitch confirms that the hitch is a fit for the 2026 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Can you explain what's preventing it from fitting?
