Question:
I have a 2019 Keystone Montana 3560RL. It is a ducted system. Both of my current ACs are Dometic and I have put Micro Air soft starts and Micro Air thermostats in for them. The front AC is 13.5k AC only and the rear is 15k AC with a heat pump. I want to replace them both. 1 Can I replace the front 13.5K air only with one that has a heat pump of similar size? Both ACs are on 20A breakers, just not sure of the front wiring. 2 Would a 15k instead of the 13.5k be too much for the space? it is a front bedroom unit. I wondered if it would freeze up if it was oversized. 3 Will the Micro Air thermostats need to be replaced? 4 Will the Furrion units/controls be compatible with my 12v furnace? 5 Does the Furrion unit come with a seal/gasket for the roof mount? 6 What additional parts be needed to install the units? 7 Do you price match? Thanks, Joe

Hey Joe, thanks for reaching out. Yes, you can replace your front 13.5K AC only unit with a similar size heat pump model, but since you’re planning to update both units, moving to a fully matched system is the best way to ensure everything communicates and performs correctly. For that, what I recommend is the following:
- GE Appliances Deluxe Plus RV AC System w/ Heat Pump - Ducted - 15,000 Btu - White - Complete System # GE85ZR
A 15K unit in the front bedroom is perfectly fine. It will simply cool the space faster, and oversizing will not cause freeze up issues as long as airflow is good and the correct control components are used.
Because you're switching to a new AC system, your Micro Air thermostats will need to be replaced. The GE system includes its own thermostat designed specifically to work with the GE control boxes.
Your 12V furnace will still operate normally with the new GE thermostat and control box, so you won’t lose furnace compatibility during the upgrade.
The GE system comes with the required roof gasket and installation hardware, so no additional sealing components are needed.
I am sorry to say we do not do any price matching.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help!

I am interested in the Furrion ACs. This is a DUCTED installation. As a follow-up to my previous questions: 1) If I buy 2 of the Furion HE low-profile units, do they both require to be the "full system" or does only one need to be the full system? 2) Can I get one of the Furion HE low-profile units and one of the Furion Chill Cubes? Are they compatible to be on the same system and will both require to be the full system?
