Video Transcript for Review of GE Appliances RV Air Conditioners - 13500 Btu White LP Ductless Heat Pump System - GE96RR

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a look together at this GE Appliances 13,500 BTU White Low-Profile Ductless RV Air Conditioner with Heat Pump System. Now this low-profile RV air conditioner is designed to give you an additional three inches of clearance in your roof height. And this 13,500 BTU per hour unit is going to do a great job at cooling medium to large travel trailers, classy motor homes, and your standard fifth wheels, giving you refreshing escape in places or spaces upwards of 200 to 300 square feet. And this is going to handle harsh road conditions and this is coming all from a brand name that you know and trust.

And this uses the more energy efficient R32 refrigerant, which does meet the 2025 EPA regulations. So this unit will not be backwards compatible with any AC system from 2024 or earlier due to that R32 refrigerant. Giving you some measurements here, the overall length is going to be right at 40 inches. The overall width is 30 inches and as I mentioned, this is a low-profile unit, so the overall height's gonna be about 11 inches tall. And this is gonna be a bolt on installation.

It does include the hardware that you need to get this bolted into place. And this unit weighs about 85, 86 pounds or so. And so this is gonna run quietly. The motor has sound dampening grommets that are gonna help reduce that annoying humming and this is going to be a pretty easy swap for most RVs. This is going to seamlessly install over your roof's preexisting roof and opening.

And this is also built tough for the road. It's built from high grade materials, so this is gonna withstand extreme UV rays and that constant vibration. And this does feature this white hard automotive grade polymer shroud. So this is gonna do a great job of protecting the internal components from water, dirt, debris. It's gonna be very easy to remove if you need to do any maintenance, cleaning.

And then easy to replace with the screws here. So again, the shroud is rigid, it's hard. So again, I think it's gonna hold up really well for you. This does include the wiring harness, which is underneath the AC unit, and you're just gonna pull that through that roof and opening to hook it up. And this, as I mentioned, does have a built-in heat pump. So this is going to do a great job of keeping the inside of your coach warm on those chilly mornings. It's going to efficiently and effectively use the heat that's in the air to warm your coach on those cold days all the way down to 25 degrees Fahrenheit. And at about 35 degrees Fahrenheit, this is going to extend your propane supply by anywhere from 19 to 38% by reducing the need for you to run your furnace. And then when conditions do get too cold for the heat pump to run efficiently, this is going to switch over to your furnace. And this also does feature an auto defrost cycle to help prevent ice buildup on the heat exchanger. Now taking a closer look here at this side of the table, I wanna briefly go over the components that are included. This does come with our air distribution box for your ductless system. And so this is built to handle road vibrations and everyday life. You are also going to get this single zone thermostat and if you notice, we do have easy to use buttons and a nice large clear display that's going to be backlit. This does include the hardware that you need to get this installed easily into place. And then you're going to get this fireproof control board. This is basically the brains of the operation. It's gonna manage how your AC unit operates and then giving you some measurements here. Going back to our air distribution box, when we're looking at the length and the width, that's gonna come to about 21 inches. And then this is going to stick down from your ceiling about two and a half inches or so. So it's about two and a half inches thick. Our thermostat, again, the width and the height is going to be three and a half inches square. That's about an inch thick. And then when we come to our control box, seven and a half inches long, six and 7/8ths inches wide and about two and 3/8ths inches thick. So again, everything that you see here is going to be included with this system. It's gonna be a relatively simple install. Probably the most difficult part is gonna get the AC unit up on your roof. And again, this is all coming from a trusted name, GE Appliances. So the same trust and reliability that you get from your GE Appliances in the house, you're gonna get that with this AC unit for your RV. If you happen to have any other questions, don't hesitate to reach out. We do wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Hey Brian, congrats on the new-to-you camper! Adding an AC with a heat pump will be easy enough, but you will need to make sure the roof is strong enough to hold the weight of the AC and you'll have to route some wiring. If you haven't done anything like this before then you'll either want to have a shop do it for you or have someone with experience help you plan it all and get it installed.
