How Does The Furrion Chill Cube Thermostat Get Wired To The AC System

Updated 10/08/2025 | Published 12/14/2024

Question:

I have a Furrion system already do you use that wire harness in the picture or is that for applications? I don’t have Furrion already

Hey Matt,

Furrion typically has 4 wires running to their thermostats and the Chill Cube Thermostat # LC74DX is no exception. The harness you see with the thermostat would plug into the Chill Cube's controller and has 4 wires to extra wire to to run wherever you're installing the thermostat. The wires are color coded and there's a sticker on the harness explaining what each color's function is to make installation easier.

@RobertD did they send you the schematic? Can you share with me? I have the same issue.

@Jason https://lci-support-doc.s3.amazonaws.com/furrion%20documentation/air%20conditioning/manuals/ccd-0008973.pdf Page 6 of the instructions have the wiring laid out. 12v positive and negative, then the 2 communication/signal wires back to the ac unit is all that's needed for the ac portion to work. It appears the 2 wires for the heater side may be a little different than how other thermostats operate but it appears that instead of a looped circuit from the furnace it just sends power back down to the furnace from the thermostat. I have not confirmed that yet as I just got the thermostat in the mail today but that is my take from the diagram. So you will have to find the wire from the furnace that does not have power and hook it up to the thermostat.

What wires do I need to connect the furnace? I have 2 blue wires coming from the furnace that are connected to red and white wires. Do they connect to the to the "gnd" and "furn+" terminals on this thermostat?

@BobT The white wire is going to be your common ground wire for the "gnd" hookup and the red wire is going to be the furnace return signal "furn+". I attached a manual for that thermostat as well for you to take a look at.

@NickS that is exactly how I have mine wired but the thermostat will not power up the furnace. When installing I did notice that I have a very low current running through that white wire. When not connected to 120v the thermostat kicks on and of cycling the furnace on its own. As soon as I connect to 120v it no longer does that but then the thermostat want turn of the furnace at all. Maybe I’m missing something simple but at this moment I’m stumped

@Trenton You said you have the thermostat connected to 120v or 12v? I know the thermostat itself is designed for low voltage like 12-24v so having it on a 120v circuit could be causing that issue.

I have same problem where can't get furnace to work. Furrion manual told me to buy thermostat FACC13VSD-AM-KIT (PN 2024047199 in order to get a furnace to work. I had to reverse the wires coming from furnace (white to be +positive and red to be ground per the Furrion description of wire descriptions and that was only way to get furnace to turn on and then after it lit after about 1 min it shut down with thermostat saying LOW. The AC unit had manual blower running low at the same time and in all my RV time i have never had a manual blower run while furnace is running. Very disappointed with Furrion for something so simple as I have changed AC units in past and never had something like this be so complicated to figure out. I guess only choice is to just put a cheap furnace thermostat as Furrion can't figure this out even though the advertise it to be able to connect to a gas furnace. If you are thinking about buying the Furrion I would hold back as they definitely need some fixing to how their systems work. If you are willing to use it in a no make sense mode buy it.

@Deano I had the same problem. Check your connections to the thermostat. I had placed them all backwards. Once reversed they worked fine. The drawing in the instructions is reversed from actual looking at the back of the thermostat.

@Deano I finally got this to work. I ran a dedicated 12v hot wire to the thermostat where it says positive and for the negative I ran the negative wire from the furnace (not the wire from furnace that always has 12v on it). Now it works like it should beside the manual blower is always running on the a/c unit. Granted it is running very slow but there should be a way to shut that down, especially when running on furnace. I guess Furrion should put me on the help support desk and I can take calls on how to fix their mess.

@Deano Thanks for passing on worked! The fan runs all the time to run air over the thermostat sensor to get an accurate reading.
