Hey Rueben, thanks for reaching out!
You should have an axle rated for 3,500 lbs so you'll need the following:
- etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-35-SA (1 of these)
- Easy Grease Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K (2 of these)
I recommend double checking the weight rating on the sticker in the middle of your axle just to be certain.
If your trailer doesn't have any kind of brakes at the moment, then you'll also need the following:
- Trailer Breakaway Kit # 3802308
- Length of 10 Gauge Wire # 10-1-1
- Butt Connectors # DW05745-10
- Junction Box Kit # e99011 (if you don't already have a 7-Way)
I'm also linking an article from our site that goes over all of this in more detail that you can check out.
Do you already have a brake controller?

Hey Rueben, how did things go with adding the electric brakes to your 6x10 trailer? Did the brake kit and hub assemblies fit your 3,500‑lb axle as expected? Your update could make it easier for others working on a similar trailer setup.
