Hey Robert! If your trailer has 10" brake drums with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern, there's a good chance you have 3,500 lb axles. I can't say for sure based on the trailer year and model alone, so you will need to confirm this.

If they are 3,500 lb axles with a standard 4-bolt brake mounting flange, you can use the etrailer etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-35-SA along with # BRKH10B for replacement hardware. You will also need to add a 7-way using # e99011 and then some 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 to run back to the brake assemblies.

Do you already have a brake controller on your vehicle?

Robert Good idea to upgrade the brakes on your dump trailer. Myself I went with the brake kit which included all the required hardware required at the wheel. I made the mistake of trying to go cheap with knockoff china junk at first with really crappy results just trying to save a couple of nickles. US made brake kits from like Dexter in my estimation are the only way to go and cheap insurance. With that said you might talk to your insurance company and see if they won't give you a break on the premium for the DT. Bottom line I'm very pleased with the performance of my electric brake conversion both in stopping and the peace of mind know I can stop the trailer. good luck SeaDog

@Seadog thanks for sharing your experience! Glad to hear your electric brake conversion has worked out so well. That extra control and peace of mind is definitely a big benefit, especially with a loaded dump trailer. The Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brakes # 23-468-469 are a really great option assuming Robert has 3,500 lb axles with the standard 4-bolt brake mounting flange. They're made in the USA and come with the mounting hardware as well.
