Hi Marcy!

The etrailer hitch for your 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98912 you found. We did an install of this on a 24 Crosstrek and I have that video included. We did need to open up the access holes a little to get the hardware into the frame, but it is a pretty easy install.

What are you planning on using the hitch for? If you also need wiring, the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467 is what I recommend. Tekonsha makes the best harnesses and the plug and play install is nice and easy. : )

Hi Laser, Thank you for your reply. Adding wiring is a great idea. Do I also need to purchase a pin for the connection of a trailer? Thank you, Marcy

@MarcyB If you will be towing a trailer, you will need a couple other things. First will be a ball mount like the Curt Ball Mount for 2" Hitches - 4" Rise, 6" Drop - 14-1/4" Long - 6,000 lbs # D-28. The etrailer hitch # e98912 measures 14" from the ground to the inside top of the opening and the typical trailer will measure 18" from the ground to the bottom of the coupler, so the # D-28 having 4" of rise will get you level with the vast majority of small trailers. The pin and clip # C21500 will hold that in place. The last part of this set up will be a ball. For this you will either need the 1-7/8" # TS34FR or 2" # 63845. It will depend on the coupler on the trailer. Or you could get the Convert-A-Ball Interchangeable Ball Set - 1-7/8" and 2" Balls - 1" Shank - Nickel # 901b that has both options, which is cool, but it's a bit pricy. If you were going to be renting a trailer, I think you can usually also get a ball mount with a pin and clip when you pick up the trailer. Not sure if there is a charge for that, but they may include it with the price of a rental. You would have to give it back when you are done with the rental though. : P
