The Malone AirFlow2 Roof Rack clamps tightly to raised side rails using rubber-coated steel clamps. The rubber grips protect the rails from scratches and hold firm during travel. Excellent fit and well priced rack for our Forester Wilderness. The rack is quick to install and easy to adjust to the right distance for accessories once on the rails. Minimal amount of added road noise at highway speeds. Would definitely recommend to others.
I was vacillating between a 4- and a 5-star rating. The only hiccup in the process was a several day delay in getting the product ordered. I will attribute this to shipper error rather than etrailer. Other than that the crossbars were easy to install. Assuming that they don't fall off once the cargo carrier is attached then the 5-star rating is appropriate.
Bought the roof rack from this retailer since it was considerable cheaper than if I had bought it from VW. They tried to scare me telling me only their rack would fit my car. This was incorrect. The Malone rack fit great and I have used it now at least a dozen times with a large roof cargo box on camping trips.
The roof rack was easy to install,love the locks. It took well over a week to receive the product; even after receiving three "expected delivery dates". One of the main reasons I ordered was how quickly I was supposed to receive the product.
I purchased and used the Malone AirFlow2 Food Rack crossbars in silver, for my Forester Subaru several years ago. They have been great except for what most people wrote about in the reviews, the end caps fell off. I gave those crossbars to my daughter and after a lot of research, chose to purchase the Malone AirFlow2 again. This time they have updated and improved the end caps so they are much less likely to fall off. For the price they work really well for my Subaru and kayak that travel many miles, and they are very easy to install. Additionally, I called customer service, and again as other reviews stated, could not have been more pleased with the information Jesse M provided, especially about warranty. Most grateful for the ease and efficiency with which all was communicated. It's easy to speak in a positive manner and spread the word about this company when you are spoken to with respect.
I chose these crossbars because there were already a number of reviews for the 2023 Forester Wilderness, which is what I was fitting for. They were super easy to put on (except the rubber strips that go underneath, those were too stiff in the cold). My set came with three left and only one right endcap, but etrailer sent me out a replacement set right away, and all was well! Have been driving with them for over a month now, and the don't seem too noisy, and work great for a fraction of the price of other brands.

Too much wind noise. Otherwise seems to be a good product.
Fits my '26 Forester Wilderness nicely! i didn't install the rubber strips, instead i used 3/4 inch backer foam which fit perfectly. there is little to no wind noise
Installed over a year ago and it has been perfect. Paint/rubber trim still looks brand new. Great value and would buy again. Works perfectly with Rhino Rack Zenith cargo box on 5th gen 4Runner.
Wind noise is minimal but there is a slight whistle sounding noise if you drive with the sunroof open. When windows are up, no additional noise.
Great value for the money. Easy to install and remove. They do make a little wind noise when installed. Worked great on the built in rails on our 24 Crosstrek.

A year in and these are still working great. I don’t leave them on permanently, but we’ve put furniture, kayaks and other junk on these and they’ve done the job.

I gave overall five stars based on ease of installation, customer service, and quality of product for the price paid. These are not Thule or Yakima bars, which you would want if you were going to do heavy off-road Overlanding and rooftop tent set ups. But the weight of 165 pounds that they hold is more than enough for what I need. I plan on carrying a single kayak, or a single paddleboard, or a light cargo basket with extra hiking gear. The installation is straightforward and easy. Even coming with the Allen wrench that you need to tighten them on might take a half hour overall to install. They look great on my Subaru outback wilderness, however, I will say they are very, very noisy with the sunroof open! They do come with a strip of rubber like gasket that goes on the underside of the bar I have yet to install. That is supposed to help with the noise and I'm sure that it does. I will update my review as soon as that is done. One of the towers came to broken and customer service was exceptionally quick responding and sending me a new tower within two days! Thank you, etrailer!
These Aero crossbars are easy to mount on the roof, sturdy and secure with built in locking system. My Mallard fit perfectly as it requires the extra width. They were shipped very quickly and fit my car perfectly. I highly recommend this company and these crossbars!
Installed the 50" Airflow2 bars on a 2024 Outback Wildness. Seem to be a solid set of cross bars. Installation was pretty straight forward. They do produce a little wind noise, but not too bad.

Its been a year and we are quite happy with the Malone cross bars! Now have a Thule basket on them and hauled a load up top to Colorado and back. The Malone bars are a great value for the price and they come with locks included! Im glad we bought these.
Brackets are a bit difficult to align. Best to start all bolts, but do not tighten until bars are aligned.

Rack still looks good. Locks were getting a little difficult to turn, but a little spray lubricant worked fine.

Whistling is terrible. Strip for the underside is all in place and have used duct tape to cover any visible spaces, yet whistling is still present above 30 mph. Cool humid mornings have a positive effect which I’m guessing is related to air density. Prevailing wind direction, in relation to direction I’m driving is also noticeable. The bars extend approximately 4 inches beyond their mounting points and I’m considering trialling mitigation measures at those points, such as coiling para cord around them or placing sock-like covers to disturb the air vortices. All in all, quite frustrating. Some have recommended wind fairings but as most are 100 bucks plus, I’m loathe to spend more money on these.
Very good product quality. Fits my crosstrek well. Holds secure to the roof rails. Fairly easy to install. Sits a little higher than most crossbars, which is good as this allows easier tightening of kayak J bar thumb screws as there is more room under the crossbar to place your hand while tightening.
Overall, I'm happy with the performance of this rack system. However, I'm having an issue with the silicone 'shoe' that sits under the footing. It keeps falling over from the attachment point right under the crossbar. I have tried reinstalling it several times, but it will not stay seated in its intended position. I reached out to Malone customer service for help... didn't really get any meaningful help. They just said "reinstall it correctly." Kind of frustrating.
Fast shipping and great communication. Very nice crossbars. Easy install, looks to be very sturdy and of great quality. Fits very well on my 2025 Subaru Forester (raised roof rails), and I installed the cross bar brackets between the the rail feet for wider distance and weight support. Definitely recommend.

So far the rack is great; all the hardware for mounting and instructions were great. I got this rack so I could mount a Hullivator on my wife’s Crosstrek. It’s less than 1/2 the price of the comparable Thule for the same quality.
Very nice roof rack. Easy to install and looks nice on my Crosstrek!

It’s still in great shape! I’ve added a basket to it and the crossbars have held up really well. They’re always stayed in place. Easy to put up and take down.
