Replacement Hold Down Straps For An Older Swagman Bike Rack

Updated 07/28/2025 | Published 07/21/2025

Question:

Hi, I have an older Swagman hitch mounted 4 bike rack that used plastic straps to hold down the bikes. The straps have a hole on one end that goes over the round rack bar and the rest of the strap has holes so you can stretch the strap over the bike frame nestled in the U shaped plastic cup and pulled down and onto a tab. I have pics of the rack and the straps which I will gladly send. Thanks and Regards

Hi Michael!

I think pictures would definitely help in this case. If you could send those to [email protected], I will take a gander at them. The length and width of them wouldn't hurt either. You don't know which Swagman bike rack it is, by chance, do you? Guessing you would have mentioned that in your question, but just trying to cover all the bases.

I will say that it sounds like you are describing a hanging style bike rack from how the straps hold the bikes. If this is the case and the Replacement Strap for Swagman Titan or Trailhead Bike Rack # P482 looks like what you have and measures 9-1/2" long x 1" wide x 1/4" thick, it will most likely be what you are looking for. If that's way off though, definitely get me the picture and measurements and I can see what we have for you!

Hi, I'll send you photos of the strap to [email protected] shortly. It is indeed a hanging rack which holds 4 bikes. I'll include a photo of the whole rack too. The strap is 9 ¾ " long the hole at the end is 1 ¼" in diameter. Thanks and regards

@MichaelG That sounds pretty similar to the # P482 I mentioned, but I will definitely check out your pictures when I get them!
