Will Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver Impact Functionality of Kick Sensor on 2025 Toyota Grand Highlander

Will the hitch impact the foot sensor on rear hatch e.g. prevent that option from working?

Expert Reply:
Hey Len! The kick sensor will continue to work with the Curt # C26VV installed on your 2025 Grand Highlander. What typically happens is the area right around the receiver is blocked but you really don't want to kick your foot at the receiver anyway. If you swipe your foot across underneath like you normally would (below the receiver of course) it will trigger the sensor. Worst case you would have to place your foot on either side of the receiver but the functionality will not be lost.
