Will Standard Battery Operated Drill Operate Lippert Quick Drop Tongue Jack
Updated 07/09/2025 | Published 06/27/2025 >
Question:
I am considering replacing my power tongue jack on my Geopro travel trailer to get clearance for my tailgate. Will a standard battery operated drill be sufficient for this jack especially for lifting the trailer/truck while installing the weight distribution bars? Trailer Tongue weight is about 600.

Hey John; your standard cordless drill will have no issues operating the Lippert Quick Drop Tongue Jack # LC733926. Just make sure your battery is charged or it might not perform as well as you want it to. The jack has a lift capacity of 1,500 lbs so your 600 lb tongue weight won't be a problem.
Any big trips planned with your trailer this summer?

Hi Robin, thanks for the reply. I decided to simply turn the head of my power jack 90 degrees. That will give me the clearance for my tailgate.
