Cranking a loaded equipment, livestock, or commercial trailer gets old quickly. This jack gives you 12,000 lbs of hydraulic lifting capacity and 15,000 lbs of support capacity, letting the powered system handle raising and lowering the trailer. With 24-1/4" of lift, you also have plenty of movement for hitching, unhitching, and adjusting the tongue height on taller trailer setups.
The hydraulic power unit, 500W 12V DC motor, and 2.5-quart reservoir are mounted directly with the jack, so you do not need a separate trailer hydraulic system just to operate the leg. The double-acting hydraulic system powers both extension and retraction, while the keyed corded pendant lets you control movement from a better position where you can watch the trailer as it moves.
If the electric motor cannot operate, a 1/4" hardened hex drive lets you manually turn the hydraulic pump with a standard power drill. The directional valve still needs some 12V battery power while you operate the override, so this is a backup for a failed motor rather than a completely power-free system. Do not use an impact driver or hammer drill, since the impact action can damage the pump assembly.
The jack requires a 12V battery, with a full-size Group 27 deep-cycle RV or marine battery recommended. The battery and cables are not included, letting you choose cable sized for the actual distance between the battery and hydraulic power unit. Proper cable sizing helps limit voltage drop when the motor is working under a heavy load.
The 10" x 10" footplate spreads the trailer load across a large contact area and pivots as the jack moves, helping it sit more naturally on uneven gravel, dirt, or pavement. The square-tube leg uses two 7-1/2" x 4" mounting tabs for a bolt-on installation.
