Does Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp For 2-1/2" Hitches Work With Weight Distribution

I am considering using this with an Equalizer WD hitch towing a travel trailer. The GVW of the TT is ~8,000 and the tongue weight is ~1,100 . Is this device rated for and usable for my application?

Hi Jim,

Yep, you can definitely use the Gen-Y Anti-Rattle Clamp for 2-1/2" Hitch Receivers # GY28XR.

It isn't technically rated for anything specific, but can be used for all towing purposes, including your weight distribution hitch. There isn't any type of tongue weight being put on the # GY28XR, which is why there isn't a rating.

Smart idea to go with this clamp as it's going to make things quite a bit more stable in your hitch and reduce the what can be pretty aggravating rattling noise as you tow.
