What tow hitch/wiring harness do I need for a 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo X?

Hello Kim,

Thank you so much for getting the VIN to me. When I looked up the VIN it is listed as a 2021.

For a hitch I really like our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Matte Black Finish - Class III - 2" # e98901, it comes in a matte black which I think gives it that OEM look. If you would like the glossy black finish, then I would go with the Draw-Tite # 75699.

For the wiring, you are going to want the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118727. This will get a 4 flat on the back which is great for light towing, or a hitch mounted accessory.

If you plan on towing a trailer with brakes, you will need to build on top of the # 118727 by installing the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7. The # ETBC7 is a little more work to install as you will need to run a power line from the battery, install a couple of amps, and run a brake wire from the front to the rear.

if you don't have a ball mount already, check out our etrailer Ball Mount w/ Pre-Torqued 2" Ball - 2" Hitch - 2" Drop - 7,500 lbs # e67DR, I really like that we chose to go with the black nickel plating on the ball, gives it a nice sleek design.

If you are pulling a trailer with brakes and don't already have a brake controller, I really like the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller w/ Universal Wiring Harness - Dash Knob - Proportional # RED52VR. I like how the dial is on the dash, making it easy to adjust the brakes, or if there were to be an emergency situation, the override button is just at hands reach.

That is everything you will need to be able to tow just about any trailer.
