Does etrailer Hitch e93ZR On 2023 Nissan Rogue Require Trimming Of The Heat Shield?

Question:
Is any trimming of the heat shield needed on a 2023 Nissan Rogue? I had mine installed and its making some kind of rattling noise. Thank you!

Hello Tricia, thanks for reaching out. Yes, some modification to the heat shield is required in order to properly install the # e93ZR hitch on a 2023 Nissan Rouge. They do not call this out in the instructions, but we have found this to be a necessary step on most (but not all) new Rogue models. Otherwise you will have that rattling you mentioned. What I would do it take the car back to your installer and have them trim the heat shield so it no longer rattles up against the hitch. Or if you have the tools you could trim it yourself. It should be just a small section.
